💭Thoughts on the new 3v3 format being introduced next season The new 3v3 format is being rolled out next season. I can’t help but feel this should have been in addition to, rather than instead of, existing formats.

So the big question: Why wasn’t 3v3 introduced as an add-on, not a replacement? Imagine this game day instead: • 20 mins of 3v3 • 40 mins of 5v5 More variety.More learning.More game time. A better football education overall.

Is the game asking the right questions? A local U11 coach got in touch a few weeks ago about his sides struggles with “ Getting out from a goal kick” This got me thinking.. Are the current rules in grassroots football preparing the players in the best way?

Whilst I can see why the FA introduced the rule, is it time to fine tune the rules to enhance player development? This is just one idea which increases the challenge for players over time, preparing them for what’s to come as they get older.

City’s biggest mistake wasn’t selling key players — it was keeping Haaland and letting Alvarez go. I don’t care what anyone says, the teams performances dip when Haaland plays. He needs to bring much more to the table next season.
