✓ In August 2025, Pete Hegeseth, US Defence Secretary and later Secretary of Trump's War against Iran offered no reason when he fired Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore from her position as Chief of the Navy Reserve. Nancy served for 35 years in uniform. Instead of ending her career in public service, Pete's arrogant act helped set her on a completely different path. On 3 November 2026, Nancy won a seat in Congress, flipping a Republican-held district in South Carolina. She could soon have a vote on whether the very man who fired her should be impeached.
✓ Hegseth may have thought he was ending Nancy's influence when he pushed her out of the Navy. Instead, he helped create one of his most direct political opponents in Washington. Sometimes, the consequences of an act come back in ways nobody expected. Nancy has gone from being removed by Hegseth to becoming a member of the institution that can hold him accountable.
