If you think that in a perfect world everyone agrees with you then you are stupid. If you think you can achieve that world without violence then you're naive and stupid. If you think you can achieve it with violence then you are evil and stupid.

Sam Altman is actually right about this, and most people are missing the bigger picture. Think about how much RAM sits unused in hundreds of millions of personal computers every single day. People buy machines with 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of RAM, yet most of that capacity is barely utilized for much of the day. Meanwhile, AI research, scientific computing, and cloud infrastructure are competing for the same limited global supply of memory. From an economic perspective, this is an incredibly inefficient allocation of resources. In a data center, memory can be pooled, shared, and continuously utilized by thousands of workloads. Instead of expensive hardware sitting idle for most of its lifespan, that same capacity can support services used by millions of people. Higher utilization means more computing output from the same physical resources, potentially lower costs per workload, and less pressure to manufacture additional hardware. This doesn't mean everyone should give up owning a computer. Local computing still matters for privacy, independence, latency, and offline access. But the fundamental principle is correct: maximizing individual ownership of scarce hardware isn't necessarily the same thing as maximizing its usefulness to society. The future of computing isn't just about who owns the most powerful hardware. It's about how efficiently we use the hardware humanity already has. >Add a sharper counterargument>Make the opening more attention-grabbing⋮⋮⋮⋮⋮⋮⋮⋮

We always knew the endgame for these guys, but I didn't think they'd go mask off before they even had a properly marketable product.

There's a Spoil type beyond Lvl5 but the only way to get it is to fight TurboSatan. And he's only given me ONE of those drops out of three fights. I'm getting some Monster Hunter flashbacks.

Oh... You only get it once, but the game doesn't tell you. Welp, time to murder the Dragon now I guess. Big lizard ain't gonna know what hit it.

"Hey there friendo, we heard you might have some RAM available. Don't lie now, we saw your Discord status said 'Playing DAVE THE DIVER', we know you've got a few more megabytes you're hiding."

I've been generally supportive of AI as a tool. It's incredibly useful if used with proper caution and the correct understanding of it's limits. But Sam Altman is doing his best to radicalize me against it.

Hearing from an official WizKids representative that the Crimson Skies dice were so horribly unbalanced they would roll 5 or 6 80% of the time was a huge vindication for me. Apparently it was the entire run of them, too. They are, apparently, still a bane on RPG cons to this day.

Basically, if you see these little suckers at a table, the guy using them KNOWS what he's doing.

I... did not expect supporting fire coming from French Canadians. I will take back 3 disparaging statements I have made about Quebec.

Just came back from a 50 person group gathering where we all just used our online names and it worked great. Been friends with those weirdos for years on the net and we fell into old conversations like it was natural.

"I don’t want an AR in the cold. The bolt locks up, or so I’m told! I don’t want an AR in the sand, I do not want one in my hand! No AR's in the jungles, please, Where the trees speak Vietnamese! I don’t want one in the lowland flat, They do not work where mud is bad! I do not want one here or there, I don't want an AR anywhere!" But the gun works fine in cold or heat. In sand, or jungle, or muddy streets. Your post complains of nothing true! The rifle’s fine; the problem’s you!
Replying to @autisticarab
I would not want an ar in the cold, or sand or jungle or lowland.

"Riddle of Steel" would be a bitchin metal band name. At the very least an album title.
You're not a real metal fan unless you can name this band.

People mock the Chicago Style pizza as a casserole, and they may be right, but goddamn it's a good casserole.
