A few days ago, my close relative finally received the body of her husband. He had been missing in combat action for more than two years.
Finally, she can let go of the thought that the door might open at any moment and he will simply walk back in.
Finally, she can find a quiet place to lay him to rest โ a place she can visit, a place where grief can finally have an address.
I hate this war.
And I hate those who keep feeding it, escalating it, and urging others to continue it, while sheltering behind moral slogans about a โjust peaceโ and the โright to resist.โ
In the name of the men already dead, they keep taking more husbands away from more wives. They invoke the fallen to justify sending the living to join them.
This is an endless circle of violence, grief, and revenge. And someone has to break it.
Stop turning yesterdayโs dead into a justification for tomorrowโs dead.
