Compatibility refers to values and goals and certain preferences, though. Some of those things you can't negotiate just because you have chemistry with someone. There are definitely people out there who you can share chemistry with and be more compatible with without-
i think no-one is really compatible, both platonically or romantically. i think you choose the people by your side and you make constant efforts and learn how to love them and cherish them and i think that's so much more beautiful than just fate or compatibility

Like idk. If my partner told me we don't work together but they still stay because they love me, I'd feel horrible. Like no. We need to actually be happy and fulfilled and not feel like we're giving up who we are for this.

It's because people see the word "manipulative"/"manipulate" and immediately rush to equate it with malice. Often times, manipulation is not done because someone is this master manipulator plotting to abuse you. It can be for survival. It can be desperation-
The popularization of therapy speak has done enormous collective social damage. Yes, the meltdowns of people with BPD are manipulative, in the same way that it's manipulative to scream for help when you're in danger, or for a person with cancer to post a gofundme. Any attempt

I just feel it's so lazy to dumb every little thing to someone being evil and not worthy. Like. Dude. Not always. I can't stress enough how so many things are legit just really aren't about you and once you understand that, you save yourself from your energy being drained.

And in case anyone misunderstands, yes I believe in the concept of abusers. I just don't think every person that can get manipulative is one.

Mental illness will do that because someone facing mental illness, especially untreated, is experiencing distortions. They are fundamentally perceiving reality differently and it feels so real and all-consuming and that is why it feels near impossible to break out of.
no offense to people w bpd like absolutely none bc i have several friends that are #bpdedout but why do some of them act like they aren鈥檛 responsible for their actions and refuse any accountability whatsoever LMAOOO

There is a reason why many people struggle with accountability, even beyond BPD. Your reality is not theirs. It's incredibly sad but this is why we need to advocate for people to get help and seek treatment.

I really wonder what kind of answers you'd get if you asked a bunch of people to define mental illness, because I really believe many people don't actually fully grasp what it implies.

Like bro I just like things. I can't personally fit into a certain category. I have all sorts of interests. I struggle to find autistic people who relate to this because it feels like everyone has that one thing they have expertise in but I literally don't.

To be clear, I'm not into either things OP brings up, although I love movies. But I guess I'm just making a general statement based on the comments and everyone sharing how they have X or Y autism and I just wonder if anyone else relates to me.

Right but when are people going to realize some people do not care for a certain medium of art in the way that you do? Yeah. Some people aren't gonna listen to music in the way someone passionate about music will. That's called having different interests and passions.
"if it sounds good i like it" is a non-music listener take because obviously everyone only listens to what sounds good to them, but people who actually listen to music can usually describe their taste a little better than that

I say this as someone who loves music and could not go without it for more than a day. I engage with it in the way and for the reasons that I do. But if someone doesn't care that much for music specifically, then they don't.

Not directed at OP, but this thing I see where people criticize someone for not having diverse taste in a specific medium and how it must mean they lack intelligence or whatever reeks of someone close-minded. The world is so much more than what you personally care about.
