Mental toughness isn't just about how athletes respond when things get hard. It's also about what they do consistently.
The daily habits. The commitment to improvement. The willingness to keep showing up.
Coaches: Are you helping athletes build consistent behaviors, or are you waiting until adversity arrives to teach toughness?

For over a year, weβve been writing a book on sustaining success, built from surveys of highly successful D2, D3, NAIA, and high school coaches and our own experience/research. Plenty has been written about building a program. Very little covers keeping one going, which is the harder job.
The book centers on what we call the Sustaining Success Loop.
