As a disabled student, the current discourse around universities being “too accommodating” is SO frustrating to see. People don’t seem to understand how many hoops we have to jump through to get accommodations, and how burdensome and shameful the system makes us feel.

Mental health is stable housing. Mental health is proper food and water. Mental health is taking time for yourself. Mental health is getting your basic needs met. Your nervous system will constantly be dysregulated if you’re in survival mode. Therapy can only do so much.
