A return to Australia for Wright as he looks to upset @aleaguemen opposition again 🇦🇺🇸🇬 Great to see Australia international Bailey Wright back in Australia for his @lioncitysailors side in the @TheAFCCL Two as he will be looking to make it two wins in a row on Aussie soil ⚪️🔵 The 29-cap Socceroo has been one of the biggest marquee signings in Singaporean club football history and has featured consistently for Lion City Sailors across various league, cup and regional competitions. The last time Wright played on Australian soil for LCS was in April 2025 when he helped defend a two-goal lead against Sydney FC in the second leg of the semi-final of the 2024/25 ACL Two to advance to the final, becoming the first football team from Singapore to reach the final of the continental competition. Later tonight, Wright will look to go two from two down under with Lion City Sailors as they take on Adelaide United. 📸: Lion City Sailors

Unbelievable scenes in Iraq as Arthur Papas suffers a forfeit loss due to restricted air travel 🇮🇶🇸🇦🇦🇺 Australian manager Arthur Papas has experienced an extraordinary turn of events as his @Ettifaq forfeited their Gulf Club Champions League match against Iraqi side Erbil. Due to restricted air travel and military threats within the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, Arthur Papas and Al-Ettifaq were unable to travel to Iraq and play their Gulf Club Champions League match. This resulted in Erbil and match officials stepping onto the pitch and waiting for the whistle to start. The referee then blew full-time without Papas and Al-Ettifaq on the pitch and subsequently awarded Erbil a 3-0 forfeit win.

ALM's horrible record against Japanese sides continues to get worse in the ACL Elite proper 🇦🇺⚔️🇯🇵 Yesterday, despite being 2-0 up at one stage, the Newcastle Jets went down to J League outfit Kyoto Sagan FC in Japan. The loss from the Jets reflects a poor showing from Australian men's clubs against Japanese opposition. Here is a record since the ACL Elite revamp: 👇 2024/25 (CC Mariners): - 2-3L vs Vissel Kobe ❌ - 0-4L vs Yokohama FM ❌ - 0-2L vs Kawasaki Frontale ❌ 2025/26 (Melbourne City): - 0-2L vs Sanfrecce Hiroshima ❌ - 0-1L vs Vissel Kobe ❌ - 2-1W vs Machida Zelvia ✅ 2026/27 (Newcastle Jets): - 1-7L vs Kashima Antlers ❌ - 1-3L vs Gamba Osaka ❌ - 2-5L vs Kyoto Sagan ❌ Across the nine matches, an A-League Men's side have just won once with an average of three goals conceded per match. 📸: JC Sports Photography

#ICYMI A return to the pitch after almost 300 days for one of Australia's biggest talents 👏 Fantastic to see former Australia U20 international and 2025 AFC Youth Player of the Year Alex Badolato return to the pitch from a very lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury 🟢🟡 The 21-year-old midfielder had been ruled out for 296 days and over the weekend, he played the final 13 minutes for the Jets in their home draw against Macarthur. A reminder that just last year Alex Badolato was an integral player for Australia's U20's team in the 2025 AFC U-20 Asian Cup which saw Australia win the tournament and Badolato himself take out the Player of the Tournament award. Badolato could get some more minutes tomorrow night as the Jets travel to Japan for Asian Champions League Elite action against Kyoto Sanga. 📸: Sproule Sports Focus

Beach dropped as second-choice goalkeeper keeps just second clean sheet in the 2026/27 Ligue 1 season 🚫🇫🇷🇦🇺 After a period of bad results for @estac_officiel in the French top flight, Australia international Patrick Beach was dropped from their most recent match as Troyes drew 0-0 away to Toulouse. It hasn't been a good season for Beach and Troyes with the club sitting in second-last position with one win from eight matches. In a change of goalkeeper duties, Troyes' second-choice keeper managed to keep a clean sheet and the result could mean possible selection problems for the Socceroo in upcoming league fixtures. 📸: JC Sports Photography
