On Friday we opened Second Life, our new community second hand shop, which will become an upcycling/recycling shop too... a joyous moment of celebration after all these years of working towards reducing waste. #zerowaste village. #forestrow
PRESS RELEASE: deeply disappointing decision by @EastSussexCC yesterday to reject Parish Council bid for Forest Row Recycling Centre, despite cross-party and wide community support. Please read our full press release and statement here. frowresource.org.uk/news/ite… 1/8
FINALLY, after all this time, @EastSussexCC will make a decision about the Forest Row tip/recycling centre TOMORROW. @CllrGlazier Will we have the chance to pioneer and pilot new community solutions to the global waste crisis? Profit or planet? Watch this space... @Georgia_t
"Just seems a bit of a no-brainer to me. Everybody wins if we can reopen this site. Our village gets to reuse all its waste stuff, people get to meet properly again, and we save the planet! What’s to not like?!" Lin Squires @EastSussexCC - for the love of #ashdownforest...
"I think it’s important that Forest Row has a tip, because we can buy whatever we want and reuse things, and save the planet locally” - Esme Millfleet, age 11 @ChaileySchool @EastSussexCC
Huge thanks to all who came out to support us on Friday - an amazing show of support for our innovative recycling centre from Forest Row and beyond. @EastSussexCC @CllrGlazier please hear us, and help us move towards a zero-waste local economy.
