A message to frontier AI labs and the US government:
The delta in intelligence between the average and smartest people has become far too large. Our bank accounts will drain to 0 randomly one day, our grandparents will be robbed of everything they own, our phone will stop working one day and never recover. The bad guys, who will be causing these acts of terror, will never stop. The good guys, who are supposed to be stopping this from happening, are more concerned about shareholders than making sure humanity can survive another generation. Please, I am begging you- stop larping that you’re helping the world with AI and actually start helping us. Your creations will destroy all of civilization, and I have yet to see concrete efforts to pace the frontier. I am tired of seeing AI safety being used as a marketing stunt. Human civilization will end if you do not pay critical attention to playing defense. They will take everything from us.
Another example: multiple frontier labs met to sign government documents stating they will pace the frontier. Ever since, their advancements in AI have accelerated. As a civilian, I would expect the frontier to slow down or at least grow at a slower rate, but the fact that it *accelerated* tells me that it was all a publicity stunt, and the shareholders are truly in control.
For example, a lab’s coding harness product is actively putting people in danger by blanket blocking all cybersecurity related prompts, preventing people from securing their applications. It’s like taking all weapons away from people but a terrorist organization still has weapons.
My favorite interview questions to ask candidates when hiring for early stage startups:
1. All great entrepreneurs resonate with one or more of the following: Autism, Revenge, or Megalomania. Which are you, and why?
(Exposes founder mindset)
2. Who’s the best engineer you know, and why?
(Exposes their flaws without them realizing)
3. Which are you more proud of: your employment history or your personal projects?
(Exposes pedigreemaxxers)
4. When was the last time you did something good but didn’t take credit for it? / when was the last time you did something bad and took the blame?
(Exposes ego)
5. What is the most impressive thing about you that is not on your portfolio?
(Exposes spikes they are afraid to show off on a resume)
6. Teach me something I probably don’t know
(Exposes teaching skills and curiosity)
7. If you had unlimited money, what would you do with it?
(Exposes the nature of their heart)
8. What was the last project you gave up on, and why did you give up?
(Exposes decision making and decisiveness)
Satisfied customer @avashiaom
It should be impossible for AI to make a bad UI.
