Our current #Gold exhibition features this Japanese scroll from the 18th century which illustrates the workings of a gold mine on the island of Sado. Find out more about this remarkable scroll on the @BLAsia_Africa blog: blogs.bl.uk/asian-and-africa…

This is unseemly and inaccurate commentary from a PM, and a real blow after everything teachers have given over the last two years. @theage @abcnews @HTASA1 @THTA19 @History_Vic @historyvictoria

Is PM Scott Morrison insulting Australia’s history teachers as a campaign strategy? “I want our kids to be taught the right things at school. I don’t want them to be told not to like our country or to not believe in our future or to rewrite our history.” @HTAVed @HTANSW

As the debate about reopening the country progresses, I suddenly remember an old viral audio account of Perry's original attempts to get Japan to open up. True now as it was then: youtube.com/watch?v=W5B2icDl…

@MakeMayoMatter boooooooooooooooooo!!! Your decision to support the LNP make humanities unaffordable will haunt you to the grave of your political career
Unbelievable. Rebekha Sharkie @MakeMayoMatter boasting about getting $15 mil road funding for her electorate the same day as selling out thousands of South Australian kids who will now pay up to $58,000 for an ordinary uni degree. #qt #auspol

Today’s sellout of Australian universities’ staff and students by Centre Alliance’s Sharkie and Griff is appalling & heartbreaking. They should hang their heads in shame. We will pay for years ahead in terms of quality research, education, and student opportunity. Shame on them.
