There's a lot of frustration and disappointment among Nebraska fans right now. But buying out Rhule would REALLY expensive to get a new coach.

Nebraska has fired offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen.
Statement from coach Matt Rhule:
“Like so many of you, I am angry, I am disappointed and I am frustrated with our results this season. As the head coach, I am ultimately responsible for every aspect of our program—including wins and losses—and it is my responsibility to make changes when they are warranted.
“While there are many areas that need improvement, our offensive plan and execution is simply not working. Earlier today, I relieved offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen of his duties. As I have recently shared, Dana has a fantastic offensive mind, he is a strong leader, and he has done great work here at Nebraska. But simply, we need a change. Co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas will take over play-calling duties.
“I will continue to evaluate our program through the season and certainly at its conclusion and make additional changes where I believe they will help us win.
“The Nebraska fan base has high expectations and I embrace them, and I also know of their passionate support of the young men in our program. I hope they will continue to be there for our players with very important games still ahead. Our entire program is determined to finish this season strong.”

The NTSB is asking residents to report any debris found from the deadly Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County.

At the Belt Railway in Chicago learning about #safety in their operations. The Belt prohibits rail workers from riding on railroad equipment during shoving movements, an NTSB recommendation.
Since October 2020, we’ve investigated 16 accidents involving workers riding rail equipment during shoving movements. Fourteen workers were killed and two were seriously injured. Since August, we’ve opened additional investigations.
We found that federal regulations don’t adequately address these risks and don’t consistently require crews to identify hazards before work begins. Important risk factors can include limited visibility, close clearances, track and walkway conditions, grade crossings, switches, and derails.
Safer alternatives are available, including providing point protection from the ground, using vehicles, cameras, and other technologies that allow crews to monitor the track ahead without riding rail equipment.

NTSB investigators and local officials continue recovery efforts for the wreckage of the Learjet 60 that crashed on Nov. 1 near Greenacres, Florida.
Excavation work at the crash site began late yesterday and continues today, which included finding a portion of one engine. Debris has been found away from the impact location and also on the roofs of homes and buildings near the crash site.
All recovered wreckage will be sent to a secure location for further examination.
If you have found or collected any debris from the Learjet 60 crash, please do not keep it or attempt to move, alter or dispose of it. Even small pieces of the wreckage may contain important evidence that could help investigators determine what happened. We ask that you contact the NTSB at [email protected] to arrange its recovery. Please include a photo of the debris, if possible, in your email. Recovering all available wreckage is critical to the investigation and helping to determine the cause of the crash.

Opponents of the @UnionPacific - @nscorp merger are making a big deal of this clip of Jim Vena telling a room full of shippers at the end of a pitch for the merger that he'll raise their rates if they opposed the deal. What do you think? Was UP's CEO serious? Or was it a joke?

One year after Flight 2976, we remember the 15 lives lost and hold their loved ones close in our hearts.
We remain grateful to the first responders, community partners, Louisville residents and UPSers who showed extraordinary care and compassion in the days that followed and who continue to support one another.
Today, we pause to honor those we lost, support all who were affected, and recognize the strength of a community that came together in a moment of unimaginable heartbreak.
