Sen. Richard Blumenthal is pressing Secretary of State Marco Rubio over reports that the State Department plans to spend $400M on armored Tesla Cybertrucks for diplomats.
He’s demanding records on Elon’s involvement, why “Tesla” was removed from documents, and whether DOGE officials influenced the deal.
With Cybertruck sales struggling, Blumenthal warns of serious conflicts of interest and has given the department until Feb. 21 to respond.

🚨🇺🇸LAS VEGAS POLICE GET CYBERTRUCK FLEET
Las Vegas Metro Police just received 10 Tesla Cybertrucks for patrol and SWAT use—thanks to a donor. Sheriff McMahill says the bulletproof trucks will keep officers safe and serve as a recruitment tool.
This gives LVMPD the largest fleet of Tesla police trucks in the U.S.
The department is also ramping up drone surveillance and rolling out new de-escalation training to reduce officer-involved shootings.
