We're harvesting beetroot amongst other things. We have pulled up the usual Purple. Yellow was novel. Now we have a striped white and purple. Never seen these in supermarkets.

I ended up resurrecting an old garage ceiling hoist and using the surplus luggage basket from our previous Pajero. A sheet of pool linen in the basket will stop the sallies poop.

It's been raining here all day so far. I'm sitting out watching the driveway wash away. But then I turn around and see this crown of flowers on a cacti. Happy that our tanks are full.

Piccolo always had this look on his face when we left home in the car. "Can I go with you?". We took him last week and 2 others out once. Now if the boot is open, he jumps on and won't come out. Been there for an hour now.

X on my Samsung phone has been terrible lately. Takes ages to load anything. Often crashes. I was going to ask if anyone else has the same. Instead, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it's behaving nicely.

In the mid 1970s I enrolled in a BEd (Sci) undergrad course. Met many people along the way. 50 years later, last night, I had the good fortune to share a meal with 6 other people from back then. All former teachers and more. Amazing how some friendships are for life.

All done. I had to think about how much would be in each bag in the freezer. Normally I cook for 2, so I chose 250g per bag. 7 bags in the freezer. Siesta time now.

We made a cage to protect the base of the Mulberry tree from the chooks scratching and planted wheat so they can get some extra greens. It's turned our chooks into cage chickens, by the looks.

Had morning tea with some neighbours for the first time today. They've lived here for 30 years. Their grapes vine outlived their pergola posts. Had to get this shot. Post was reinserted into the twisting vine. Tricky job.
