We've got a shiny new video, explaining step-by-step how you can use electricity more effectively while earning rewards - all from the comfort of your home. #GreenwichEnergyHero #sustainable

There are few periods when UK electricity is in high demand - the greatest 2GW of demand only occurs 0.6% of the year. The most cost-effective & environmentally friendly way to deal with this is to reduce the peak rather than keep old power stations online.
#GreenwichEnergyHero
Part 2:
- Turn your appliances off standby mode 🖥
- Use the microwave to heat up your dinner which uses less energy than an electric oven 🍴
- If you have a gas oven, heat water on the hob for your warm beverage, or fill up a thermos ☕️
#GreenwichEnergyHero
Ideas to change your electricity habits during a peak response, part 1:
- Use your washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher later in the evening, or tomorrow 👕
- Turn off the TV and video games, and spend quality time with the family playing a game 🎲♟

Why do we need #energy demand management? See this short video youtube.com/watch?v=gkxVZ0uE… on how businesses can benefit by changing their energy consumption. #Greenwich #EnergyHero aims to prove that residential properties can benefit too greenwichenergyhero.org
