At #GPM2026, economist Mariana Mazzucato, Belgian socialist leader Paul Magnette and Dutch progressive leader Jesse Klaver discussed how to redesign the economy, so it works for workers - not just for profits.
Because real progress means investing in people, strengthening public services and building change together with workers and citizens.

At the #GPM2026, progressive leaders and thinkers from across the world came together to discuss how to tackle inequality and strengthen social protection in the 21st century. 🌍✊
Among them were Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe, Vice-President of Botswana, Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions, and Owen Jones, author and activist from the UK.
Together, they explored progressive ideas and concrete policies to reduce inequality, strengthen social justice and close the gap between rich and poor.
