FYI what Kuch is doing with Tampa is not even in the same universe to what Larkin/Hellebuyck did. Kuch is letting his team know on the final year of his deal that he's not re-signing after already winning everything with them. Larkin and Hellebuyck quit on their teams in the middle of long-term deals after winning absolutely shit with them. Kucherov is allowed to do whatever he wants at this point of his career. He's earned it.

So the #stlblues have an open roster spot… and now used all their LTIR space with converting Krug to SELTIR. Currently alloting 6.5 million in cap overages. Something to keep an eye on.

I understand the frustrations with the team right now, BUT we have to realize we have 2 new coaches (Associate and Assistant) and a good amount of new players. We can’t expect the PP to be best of the best strictly because we have a new coach. It takes time to learn new plays. Give it a couple weeks and then take the time to make your decisions about this team #stlblues

Couple things stood out for me last night for the #stlblues - Top line slowly started meshing in the by third period. Thought Thomas drove play better in the O-Zone… still too many turnovers -Jonathan Berggren is playing with tenacity and speed, been a great compliment to McDouble line - Fourth line is… something? Thought that was Suter and Dube’s best game… still don’t think Dube is a fourth line fit but it’s progress.

Blues will be fine. L1 is snake bitten not inept. Last year, the team defense was similar to a MidStates hockey JV team. Much improved now. Won’t be popular in some circles but the team (especially Broberg) misses Mailloux.

Steam of consciousness regarding the #STLBlues so far after getting home from the Home Opener: 1. This team is far better structured and organized than what they were in December of last season. Overall, own zone play is good. 2. Buch killed four scoring chances tonight alone.

PROS: Blues have been strong defensively, especially in their own end. The McNasty line has been fun. The d-corps as a whole has been responsible and mobile. Justin Barron actually looked pretty good in his Blues debut. Joel Hofer is a Top-Ten NHL goalie. CONS: Team shooting % the last few years has been around 11%. They’re at 8% this season. Plus they’re near the bottom of the league in SOG. That snake-bitten top line. Power play needs work. They miss Logan Mailloux. They’re not moving the puck with authority in the o-zone. Poor decision-making all-around. Binner… bruh. #stlblues
