On behalf of the Commonwealth, I warmly congratulate @PaulKagame and the people of Rwanda on Rwanda ‘s 10-year agreement with Formula 1 to host the African Grand Prix.
This marks nearly 40 years since another Commonwealth African country, South Africa, hosted the South African Grand Prix at Kyalami in 1993 marking the sport's return to the African continent for the first time since 1993.

On behalf of the government and people of South Africa, I offer warm congratulations to His Excellency President @PaulKagame and the government and people of Rwanda on securing a 10-year agreement to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix.
South Africa shares in the pride with which Rwanda is preparing to fly the chequered flag for our continent with the hosting of a globally prestigious event at the planned Bugesera circuit from the early 2030s.
This contract is a recognition of the capabilities of the Rwandan nation and of our continent more broadly.
As host of the first Grand Prix on African soil in 1993, and organiser of other major global events, South Africa will be happy to provide any support we may be invited to share.
The F1 African Grand Prix is another lustrous addition to Rwanda’s growing collection of top international events, including the UCI-classified Tour du Rwanda cycling race.
Congratulations, Rwanda.
You are in pole position to make all of Africa proud and take motorsport to new heights.

At today’s Rwanda–Senegal Investment Forum, RDB Deputy CEO @JulianaMuganza welcomed Senegalese businesses and highlighted opportunities to grow trade, investment and business partnerships between the two countries.
“We have businesses represented today across logistics, construction and real estate, leather and fashion, agriculture and agro-processing, trade facilitation and other services. These are areas where there are real opportunities to trade, form partnerships and invest across our two markets.
And there is much we can learn from each other. Senegal has built strong capabilities in entrepreneurship, trade, services, industry and regional business, with Dakar serving as an important commercial gateway in West Africa.
There is an opportunity to combine these strengths with Rwanda’s growing position as a business and investment hub in East Africa." — @JulianaMuganza

Great news to know!
How do we increase our exports under #Agoa from Rwanda to the Usa market!
@RwandaTrade @RDBrwanda @AwepRwanda @AmChamRwanda @PSF_RWA
Great to learn that the USA has granted a two year extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) extending trade preferences to qualifying African countries. Hope this will help stimulate mutually beneficial and greater Africa-USA trade! Thanks to Congress, the Administration, and the numerous individuals and organizations that worked hard to make this happen. Credit also to the African Union @_AfricanUnion and African leaders for patience and persistence on this issue.

Now, it is your time. I am speaking to you, the young people. Don’t wait until you are 70 and then start asking yourself: what did I do? ... Take it seriously, understand it, and when you leave here today, act on it.” President Kagame

“Had Rwanda not stood up and taken responsibility and brought ourselves this far, we would be nothing. There would still be people coming to feed us.
When others complement what you are already trying to do, that is a good thing. But if you have done nothing yourself, if you have achieved nothing on your own, then you become nothing.
That is why we should always look back and remember. It helps guide us, including in the way we engage with others, whether in our region or beyond.
Most of you here are probably between the ages of 20 and 45.
Those who have gone before you are people who can look back and say : we did what we could. We gave everything we had, and this is the contribution we made. I am talking about those who fought for this country, and whose sacrifice made it possible for Rwanda to become what it is today.
Now, it is your time. I am speaking to you, the young people. Don’t wait until you are 70 and then start asking yourself: what did I do? I wish I had known. Take it seriously, understand it, and when you leave here today, act on it.” President Kagame, Chairman of the RPF | RPF Bureau Politique.
