At Full Council, I welcomed the response to the Woolwich Dockyard estate renewal petition. No decision has been made. Any proposals will involve consultation and a residents’ ballot. Residents’ voices always remain at the heart of every decision.

This Labour government’s transformative Renters’ Rights Act empowers private renters to challenge unreasonable rent increases. If a tenant believes a proposed rent increase is above the open-market rent, they can refer the matter to the First-tier Tribunal. In a recent case in Manchester where the Landlord proposed an increase in rent from £1,650 per calendar month to £1,700, the Tribunal determined the open market rent was actually £1,450 per calendar month. We’re standing up for renters and our reforms are working. gov.uk/residential-property-…

469 antisemitic incidents were recorded in Barnet in the first six months of 2026. @anne_clarke says the Greens’ ‘Zionism is racism’ motion has real consequences for Jewish Londoners, and questions why Zack Polanski wasn’t there to vote against it.

From today, the HMO measures in our new Local Plan will be taken into account in planning decisions: 🏠 No new HMOs under 130sqm 🏠 No new HMOs where 3 of the nearest 10 homes are HMOs Good shared housing matters, but so do family homes. This helps get the balance right.

A fantastic five days at the Liverpool Conference, full of sharp debate, honest reflection and powerful conversations about the future of Britain. Hearing Prime Minister Andy Burnham deliver his Hope Again speech was a defining moment: bold ideas, clear direction and a commitment to rebuilding trust in public services. Grateful to be part of discussions that matter.

We've all seen it: a dockless bike dumped across the pavement, forcing a buggy, a wheelchair or a guide dog into the road. Great to see @SadiqKhan's plan to tackle the inconsiderate parking of dockless bikes. Pavements should be safe and accessible for everyone,
The Wild West approach to dockless e-bikes cannot continue. I'm setting out my plan to improve safety and data sharing, tackle poor parking and create consistent standards across London. TfL licensing is the key to making these schemes safer and better managed. standard.co.uk/news/politics…
