Congrats to @_nazmbb senior forward & the reigning @CHSAA_NYC Player of the Year, @halon_rawlins on signing with @FairfieldMBB. He will be one of two former Kingsmen in the @G_erv3 era to play Division I 🏀 next season, alongside Tyler Francis, who graduated from the East Flatbush school last year and then did a postgraduate year at the Hotchkiss School & will now be playing at Boston University. @halon_rawlins will join a great recruiting class that the Stags have put together, which also includes Queens native & former Monsignor Scanlan guard Nasir “Mookie” Rodriguez & CT native Tony “Butta” Williams, a standout at Putnam Science Academy. Look out for the Stags next season. 🔴⚪️🏀

This year’s @McDAAG may not have a player representing the city or state, but it does have a coach. That coach is none other than @G_erv3, a native of South Brooklyn, who is also the head coach at @NazarethRHS in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. For those that may not of him as a player, he was one of the city’s finest out of Paul Robeson High School (class of 2002), where he led the Eagles to two consecutive @nycpsal championship appearances. He then played collegiate 🏀 at @RazorbackMBB & @HailStateMBK & went on to play professionally in multiple countries and in the @nbagleague. He was also a force in the summer leagues at places such as @procitynyc & even @GershPark as a player. These days, he’s doing his seasonal work on the sidelines with the Kingsmen, whom he led to three consecutive appearances in the @CHSAA_NYC championship from 2022-24 in two different classifications. Last year, he became the first alum of the @JordanClassic to have also coached in the game. Tonight, he will be on the sidelines with the East team. If you’re in the area, pull up to the @barclayscenter at 9 PM to support one of the city’s finest. Or, you could also watch the game on @espn. Brooklyn stand up! 🗽🏀
