After the overview/recap on the events preceding chapter 41. We can finally look into the thematics and character analysis of Jiren to Finally understand who Really is Jiren.
A couple comments seem to be confused about if the elder Kai knows about grade 4
In order to master super Saiyan, one must remain in super Saiyan and get used to the form with and without combat context.
Therefore, if a fusion remains in super saiyan, rhey will have grade 4
It took Freeza a year and a half worth of training to go from fighting super Saiyan Goku ( Namek ) to fighting super Saiyan Caulifla. Which is a significant jump but not as unrealistic as one is made to believe

Freezaโs depiction going from a young spoilt prince who has been spoon fed everything to a man of seniority to people of his race was a nice touch Toriyama added
The last 3 appearances of Freeza are chapter 42, Chapter 56 and chapter 87
And in these chapters, despite maintaining the dark & sinister tone Freeza portrays, he has quite a substantial amount of character development that tends to get over looked due to him still being evil ๐งต
Now remember, whatโs most important to Freeza is his rule and control.
Beerus and Boo were both stronger than him, however they never interfered with his rule so it never impacted his view of himself being inferior to someone. Both were asleep/ sealed so were irrelevant.
