The 2026 Epic AI MegaJam begins Nov 12: epic.gm/epic-ai-megajam-2026
Real life
OK FINE!! YOU HATERS WIN!! 🙄😂
I’ll stop using AI to create my artwork.
BUT… I have a few very reasonable conditions. 😁
First, I need an actual human artist who will be available to me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at my beck and call.
This artist must be capable of reaching directly into my imagination and recreating EXACTLY what I’m picturing in my head, regardless of how bizarre, elaborate, physically impossible, or utterly nonsensical my vision might be. 🤔
If the finished artwork differs from my mental image by even the slightest detail, I expect an immediate revision. Or twelve. Or forty-seven. Whatever it takes.
Naturally, all revisions must be completed promptly, cheerfully, and without the slightest hint of frustration. In fact, I expect this artist to enthusiastically thank me for the privilege of correcting their mistakes while showering me with compliments about my extraordinary creative vision. 🥰🙌
And finally, because I’m a reasonable man who believes artists deserve to be compensated for their hard work, I’m prepared to pay a VERY generous $0.12 per completed piece of artwork. 😎
That’s right. TWELVE WHOLE CENTS!!
Unlimited revisions included, of course. I’m not made of money. 🙄
So… who’s ready to become my personal, human-powered, imagination-to-art conversion machine? 😁🙌
Serious inquiries only, please.
DM me so we can begin our first project together.
And PLEASE, no AI-generated applications. I have standards. 🤣🤣
Looks pretty cool
Spent a bunch of tokens over the last few weeks building a fully procedural New York simulation.
mrdoob.github.io/slop-newyor…
It's only 784KB gzipped and the code is on github, so you can do whatever you want with it ✌️
This is rage engagement. Mute immediately.
LLMs are incredible at producing something that appears to work, but if you look at in detail, it's a series of Rube Goldberg machines.
I don't believe it's a skill issue on my part. They will invariably do something incredibly stupid for the tiniest challenges. I still love them, but they certainly can't program.
No.
Stop shitting on things you skipped.
Those games could have been amazing.
You'll never know.
You have no idea the work a solo dev using AI puts in.
Meanwhile, @SquareEnix has charged you 70 bucks for 1/3 of a game, twice and planning a 3rd time and it's riddled with stick unreal engine props.
The dont even bother to change the density of the props so steel beams can be kicked as far as pop cans.
If corporate slop asset flips enrage you less than AI developers who's games you've never played, the problem is yours my friend, not ours.
Wake up babe, new logical fallacy just dropped.
Tge No True AI Slop Fallacy is born.
This is so real.
It was never syntax that make you a good software engineer.
First you had to solve the logic, then write the code.
A lot of that solving logic portion is 90% of vibe coding.
I rarley let the AI decide how we solve a problem, it decides how to implement that solve.
For some people, coding was the only valuable skill they had.
If you made your money by selling your ability to write JavaScript, CSS, Python, or whatever else, I understand why you are pissed now.
"Writing code" is worth very little today.
The sad part is that learning to code wasn't easy. It takes years for someone to become a skilled programmer.
Imagine watching all of those years go down the drain.
If you are a programmer (I mean, just someone who knows how to write code in a particular programming language), your days are numbered.
If you still think AI can't do your job, you are just in denial.
But honestly, writing code was never that valuable anyway. If you were a code pusher, you already knew that the best people at your company weren't just writing code.
They came up with new ideas, designed solutions, architected whole systems, knew how to troubleshoot and fix problems, found different ways to build better software, and, in general, spent almost no time writing code.
Not only are those people thriving today, but they're also the ones who will ride the AI wave and learn to bend it to their will.
So don't cling too long to what you lost; embrace what's already here. AI is a tide that lifts all boats, but you have to be open to it.
People keep buying cosmetic shit.
You buy skins more Whelan new games you get a bunch of asset flips with skins for sale.
Hmm... if you need a filter and can't tell on your own, it's it being Ai really a problem?
I usually check out as many games as possible in Next Fest, but the tidal wave of AI trash has beaten me
Non-AI indie devs please post your games below and I'll check em out instead
Also @Steam PLEASE add an option to filter AI games in searches. It's killing discoverability
and they say AI isn't creative, look at this composition. This is a debugging screenshot made by 6.1 sol
They should already be doing this. It doesn't matter if the slop is AI or Asset Flipping. If it's garbage, it's garbage.
There is a middle ground.
YES, Steam is currently flooded by slop.
NO, banning all AI art in games would be a catastrophic business decision for @valvesoftware.
What they really need to do is put in place measures that prevent the slop. Take down the performative "AI disclosure" nonsense.
Implement actual quality control. If something looks like low-effort slop, simply don't allow it to be published.
Apple is already doing that. If an app sucks, it usually simply doesn't get approved for the App store.
The gymnastics of mind here are Orwellian in scope.
This is like saying because photoshop makes photorealism easier than oil paints digital artists shouldn't mind getting paid less or not at all.
After all, using the blend tool is hardly any work compared to a brush and real technical skill.
Again, if you were actually building with AI tools, you'd know that your entire statement is invalid.
Especially in the realms of game development & another entertainment.
Replying to @GamesOverland @nathanromero_xp
Then AI users should have no problem with people not paying, right? After all, it was only possible thanks to the stuff of other people and took hardly any effort on their part. Thus, if they only really want to show their idea, they should have no problem giving it out for free.
it's just a new syntax. We used to be hindered by a specific syntax, now, natural language is the syntax. The concepts aren't going anywhere. I need to know what a loop is, not how it's structured syntactically now.
The problems that used to be solved by the 'Tim's' of the world will still be solved by them, they'll just use prompts instead of syntax.

Did the first 100 mile trek last night. Lake Tahoe's east coast 100 miles east. No breaks in fps, very few hitching moments, had different terrain based on actual species diversity along the way. Found a few rivers and streams and lakes i never knew about. All around, pretty cool.
Wondering if anyone's interested in westward expansion?
Should I do a beta?
Should I give people who respond a link?
