#RIP to David. Made a couple of podcast appearances with him over the years but didn't really know him. Just came away thinking he knew his stuff. He obviously is beloved by many.

There's always plenty to write about when it's Florida-Georgia week, #Gators vs. Dogs --floridagators.com/news/2026/…
Last time Georgia lost two consecutive regular-season games was Kirby Smart's first season in 2016: L 17-16 at home to Vanderbilt, and then after bye week, fell 24-10 to #Gators in Jacksonville. Speaks to consistency Sumrall talked about earlier today.
Sumrall says staying on schedule offensively made everyone's job easier in win at Texas Mentions #Gators' biggest gain was 17 on that fourth-and-12 pass ... "He played that style of game." -- Sumrall on RB Jadan Baugh picking up tough yards that mattered.
Sumrall says Florida-Georgia is different. He is fully embracing it. For those who don't think this game is different, well, they're insane 😂 "It's not just another game. That's not real."
"Any Given Saturday in the SEC" -- Sumrall summing up strength, parity of league. "It's a different beast."
"I actually studied their roster some during the bye week, because I do think they have been really consistent." -- Sumrall asked about Georgia's process of continuing to build consistently through HS recruiting ... noticed many of their players' "previous school" was "Georgia"
"We've got a group that can win -- we have to keep them focused on what it takes to win." -- Sumrall on what he's learned about #Gators
"By Wednesday, I'll probably know. I'm not going to make some big announcement." -- More Sumrall on QBs ... "There's not going to be a big QB1 announcement for this game, or any game."
"They play the game the way it's supposed to be played. And they have done that for a long time now ... that's what we're working toward in a lot of ways." -- Sumrall on Georgia
Bottom line on QBs: health, availability is top priority. Next, competition in practice will be watched closely. "They are absolute pros in have they have handled it,'' speaking of competition all season ... "We evaluate every day."
Sumrall says #Gators could play both Jones and Philo; adds they both have similar skill-sets when asked if keeping options open might be a detriment to Georgia game-planning. He said preference is to stick with one guy as they have in past.
"They are both taking some reps with the 1s and the 2s. They always do." -- Sumrall on Jones/Philo ... Meanwhile, Sumrall says Vernell Brown III "looks normal to me." Adds he looks really good.
Sumrall compared Tramell Jones' performance at Texas to a jump-shooter. Once he started making a few, confidence grew.
"They both practiced today. Both of them are available, I think, this week." -- Sumrall on QBs ... "Both guys are available. Believe in both guys. Not going to name a starter. We need both of those guys to be ready to play."
"It's a big-time game as we all know. We have to play to our best to have a shot in this one." -- #Gators HC Jon Sumrall on facing Georgia

“Hey Gemini, if Florida starts its backup QB, how can we still lose?”
Texas is all in on AI. The school is launching Bevo Lab, a 25,000-square-foot sports AI hub, and coaches are already quizzing Google’s Gemini about opponents.
@kirkgoldsberry: “The biggest mystery here is why did it take so freaking long for this to happen at a university?”
