Happy overseas NHS workers day! Thanks to all of our internationally educated colleagues in Radiology 🥰
Replying to @gloshospitals
Our final nomination goes to: ✨ All of our overseas Radiographers We have had a large number of overseas educated Radiographers join us in the department over the last few years, and they are incredibly valued within the team. They are all extremely hard working, and flexible in their approach to providing the best care possible for our patients. A big thank you to you all for your tireless efforts and exemplary contributions to our healthcare community! 🙌

If we want to build learning systems for improvement, we must encourage our teams to be curious. A culture of curiosity leads to psychological safety, experimentation & problem solving. Yet a recent large study found most leaders regard curious people as "insubordinate" & like them less than people who don't question things. However, curious people who are politically skilled are liked & supported by their leaders. Lessons for leaders AND change agents here. Change agents: how do we express our curiosity in constructive ways, asking the right questions at the right time? hbr.org/2023/11/research-whe… By @OUOBProf

Imagine what we could do if were each other’s cheerleaders, supporters and encouragers instead of competing, comparing & pull each other down It’s why leadership is so important to set the right culture, attitude & expectations

For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help. I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
