Fake PS5 emulators on GitHub are spreading password-stealing malware.
Security researchers found fake PS5 emulator projects, including KyttyPS5 and AnyPS5, that are actually being used to distribute malware.
The malware can:
>Add exclusions to Microsoft Defender to avoid detection
>Steal saved passwords and other sensitive information
>Delete its own files to hide what it did
>Use fake or lookalike GitHub repositories to appear legitimate
The researchers warn that emulator fans are being targeted because they’re more likely to download and run unofficial software.
