When Hux's time comes, he steps forward and barks out his orders in a way that earned him his image; most troopers are convinced he's mad.
When he steps away again he gives Varrys a small nod. They can now stride down the bridge with importance.
Ceremony does tend to drag. Perhaps it's time to examine these rites and modernize...
He glances sideways at Varrys for the huff. There's a little amused crinkle in the corner of his eyes.
Standing next to @GeneraIHugs.
Occasional huff.
He hates being stationary for long periods of time.
Hux is thinking the same thing, and he gestures for her to follow him into his quarters for more privacy and comfort.
"It is not a bother to me at all."
Heading past the automatic doors, he gives her a sly smirk.
"I have been working on a new program to undermine ~
There's a small shift in his expression. Hux isn't practiced in expressing empathy, but he understands where she's coming from.
"He is a powerful man capable of dealing with his enemies. But should something ever happen, I will be here for you to speak to."
"Good. I am glad to hear it."
He lets out a sharp, yet relieved breath.
"Kylo Ren is chasing after his ambitions. As of late it has taken him far from this ship."
His brows then furrow.
"... I am sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear."
Has his humor finally rubbed off on Hux...
"Indeed. I can think of more pleasant ways to spend my night." He fondly brushes off imagined dust from Varrys's sleeve.
His skin is especially hot under the collar, and he takes a sharp breath. At least his back is still ramrod straight to lend a shred of credence to the official nature of the conversation.
"Yes. I have quarters that are... more suitable for such an investigation."
He does seem to ease a little at the touch, though the embarrassment is still written all across his features.
"I, ah, misunderstood. I had a more anatomical party in mind-- I suppose they're both anatomical-- but I'd be horribly out of place."
This information does indeed come out of complete left field for him.
"Group--... oh... my stars."
Hux looks so mortified by the conversation he just had in light of this. How embarrassing!
"Ah, yes, wonderful. I will of course conduct a more thorough investigation of your vital functions in, ah, more private facilities."
He's flustered enough to think he's being slick, as if anyone can't clearly see what's going on here.
(...Now he wants to look it up on his data pad, but also he doesn't want to appear poorly educated. Takes a deep breath as well, though with a more troubled expression.)
