Ok so what exactly are we doing here?
We built an user friendly app with the @solana blockchain to take verified real photos and videos of the outside world, and share them to any platform.
Spot on!
This is where Genuine comes into the picture as a new layer of trust.
The (dis)information war of the next 12 months will be nothing like we’ve ever experienced. In crypto, in US politics, in international relations.
It’s not just AI, but that’ll be a big part of it.
Our moderation tools and social frameworks will be stretched to their limits, and likely break.
My advice:
- Cultivating an information diet of diverse skeptics. Find folks to read you disagree with, but think are fundamentally honest.
- Don’t react instantly to news, think critically about it. Does it really make sense? What’s the source? Are there multiple primary sources available?

Social media has often been portrayed as the promised land where anyone is just a single click away from the world’s news and information.
However, this utopia has been largely undermined by a not-so-real reality.

From prestigious media organizations to your average social media user, we’re inundated with disinformation and misinformation across all content mediums.
Genuine is a tool for bringing critical truth these social platforms.
Using our app anyone can take a verified real photo and video of the world, and instantly share this media to any channel with its proof of authenticity.

There are two common approaches to addressing visual misinformation or disinformation online.
Parsing Out the "Bad": Using techniques to determine if a piece of media has been tampered with or is fake.
Digital Signing: Showcasing what's genuine.
Let's break these down. 👇
🚨Detection: The @nytimes published an insightful piece on the use of software to detect generative media.
These discrimination models, as the name suggests, take an input (image or video) and determine whether it's real or fake. However, they're often inaccurate and fragile.
✅Verified Signing: @resembleai is one of the best examples of this alternative deepfake detection approach.
Using AI watermarking for audio, Resemble ensures their audio clips cannot be copyrighted in any manner, regardless of the number of file iterations and transformations.
Genuine unlocks a path for anyone to bring verified real images and videos online. We believe this should not be hindered by technical barriers.
