It’s such an honor to be leading comms for @NewYorkStateAG and her incredible team. @delaneykempner left some very big shoes to fill.
New York is lucky to have @GeoffBurgan
taking over comms for @NewYorkStateAG, the best comms team in the game. Geoff is so experienced, talented, and kind.

Merrill College students know their rights as journalists.
"Cat Murphy is a master's student at the University of Maryland, credentialed as a reporter for our Capital News Service and doing the job we teach our students to do. Cat recorded openly in a public space alongside other news outlets, and that is her legal right," Dean Rafael Lorente (@DeanLorente) said. "I'm proud of how she handled herself in a difficult situation."

Never handled a criminal case?
In just the last few weeks, AG James indicted a pharmacy owner who stole $31M from Medicaid, charged 10 members of a cocaine trafficking ring, arrested a dentist for stealing $300K, and indicted staffers who neglected a nursing home resident.
Unethical, inexperienced, never handled a criminal case - now hit with a bid complaint stemming from her obviously inappropriate handling of the Cornell case.
FIRE INCOMPETENT POLITICAL HACK TISH JAMES!

To be fair, “name a former NY AG you admire” is a tougher question than it sounds.
Easier one: name an AG who's fought harder for New Yorkers than @TishJames. I'll wait.
This is rich -- no one has spent more time playing politics in New York than Mike Lawler.
And it's Letitia. Get it right.

When Trump comes after our neighbors, Tish James fights back. She’s exactly who we need as Attorney General.
This administration's actions against immigrant communities are tearing families apart and spreading fear across New York and the nation.
@TishJames is fighting back in court, from challenging the public charge rule to protecting SNAP benefits. She will never back down from defending the rights of every New Yorker.

The allegations in the Cornell sexual assault case are deeply disturbing and gut-wrenching. Cornell University has failed this survivor.
I fully support Governor Hochul's decision to name Attorney General James as special prosecutor in this case and look forward to the complete and extensive investigation that is to come.
Accountability and justice cannot simply be values, they must also be delivered.

Every New Yorker deserves to know that when they report a crime, it will be investigated fully and fairly.
That is the promise of our justice system, and my office will honor that promise.
NY AG Letitia James says Cornell case is 'now an active criminal investigation' and NY Gov. Kathy Hochul backs changing state sexual assault law to address intoxication 'loophole,' vowing that the case will not be swept 'under the rug.'
