In 1960 the Aral Sea was the fourth-largest lake on Earth, and the fishing towns on its shore were hauling in 160 tons of fish a day. Then a cotton plan written in Moscow sent the sea's two rivers into the fields. By 2009, more than 90% of the sea's water was gone. This is what Soviet central planning did to nature. 🧵

In Japan, farmers leave fresh vegetables on wooden shelves by the side of the road and walk away. There is no clerk. There is no security camera. There is no lock on the shelf. Next to the cabbages and daikon radishes sits a small tin box with a slot cut in the top. Every item costs 100 yen, about seventy cents. You walk up on a quiet morning. You pick out two cabbages. You drop two coins into the tin box. And you go home. Foreign visitors always stop and stare at the box. They ask the same question: why doesn't someone just steal the vegetables, or take the cash box itself? Because in Japan, the farmer woke up at four in the morning to pull that radish from the cold mud and wash it for his neighbors. Taking it without paying would not make you clever. It would mean breaking a promise with the person who feeds you. Sometimes neighbors even leave an extra 100 yen coin or a handwritten thank-you note inside the slot when the vegetables are extra sweet. No armed guards. No plastic locks on the shelves. Just a wooden shed, a tin box, and a country where trust is cheaper than a lock.

Tesla Cybercab was ~40%+ cheaper than an Uber in Austin for the F1 race. This is before counting tip. Wow. Plus Robotaxi gives you an infinitely better riding experience compared to an Uber. Game over.
A Robotaxi from COTA (F1 race track) back to downtown Austin costs about $76/$78 ($4 per mile) right now vs over $112 (~$6 per mile) for Uber.

Elon Musk challenges The Economist over its coverage of Europe: “More people die in Europe from heat than die from guns in America. Why aren’t you writing about air conditioning?” 🇺🇸🇪🇺 Musk: “There are more people dying in Europe from heat than people who die from guns in America. Why aren’t you writing about air conditioning?” The Economist interviewer: “We’ve done several pieces on air conditioning. We had a whole long piece on our cover last week. I think you have a view of The Economist that is not entirely accurate.”

You know you can just look this stuff up, right? You can literally look up that Tesla has $45 Billion in the bank and is doing billions in profit every quarter.
Scott Galloway says Tesla is the patient in Musk's SpaceX merger and SpaceX shareholders are the organ donors "It's a real merger with a fake promise. When Musk merges something into another, it's an acknowledgement that it's about to crater." "He stuffed Twitter into xAI, which then got folded into SpaceX. His M&A strategy is simple. When one of his kids is failing, he makes another family adopt it." "So, right now, Tesla is the patient and SpaceX is the organ donor or SpaceX shareholders are the organ donor." "So, who wins? Tesla shareholders... That's like trading, you know, your Buick for a piece of a Gulfstream."

Tesla engineers found a clever way to reduce EV range loss in winter. Instead of wasting energy generating heat, Tesla’s heat pump system recycles heat already produced by the motors, battery and electronics. At the centre is the Octovalve, which manages heat between the battery, cabin, motors and outside air. It can even extract heat from freezing outside air to warm the cabin. The result is less energy wasted on heating and more left for driving. The Model Y introduced this technology in 2020, and it’s now standard across Tesla’s range. Cold weather still affects EV range, like it does with all cars, but clever engineering is making winter driving increasingly efficient. And this is exactly why EV technology continues to improve.

I would easily donate a % of my Tesla and SpaceX shares to protect Elon. Elon is a national treasure and honestly, protecting him should be a national priority. There are SERIOUS reasons to care about his safety… read his own words. In July 2024, Elon wrote: “Two people (separate occasions) have already tried to kill me in the past 8 months.” In February 2025, he described “taking a lot of flak, and getting a lot of death threats.” Then, in July 2026, the Justice Department announced that eight men had been indicted over an alleged plot to attack the White House UFC event. Prosecutors explicitly named Elon among the alleged intended targets. All of Elon’s companies should commit the resources needed to give him the strongest protection available, with federal authorities coordinating on credible threats. Dedicated funding, experienced security teams and careful planning should be a TOP priority. I want Elon to have the time and freedom to keep building, and to go home safely to his home/family. It’s so crazy to me if you disagree with this…
