I never thought I'd write a book. For years, people kept asking me to co-author something. That sounded perfect. All I had to do was sit on a porch, tell some stories, and let a real writer do all the work. My friend Jon Gordon had other plans. After reading my co-authored manuscript, he looked me straight in the eye and said, "Clint, you need to write your own book." "I'm not a writer, Jon." "You're afraid to write your own book." Well, that did it. The 12-year-old in me showed up real quick. "I'm not afraid of anything." Nine months later, "Hurdle-isms" was born. Those nine months were brutal. There were days I hated writing. Days I wanted to quit. Days I stared at a blank page for hours. But something magical happened in that struggle. Pulling out old journals from Colorado and Pittsburgh. Remembering conversations with players who changed my life as much as I changed theirs. Here's what I learned writing my book: Growth isn't comfortable. It's not supposed to be. The best things that have happened in my life came from doing things I didn't think I could do.

Say hello to Skip Jutze who played “all or parts of six seasons” as a catcher in the big leagues with the St. Louis, Houston and Seattle. Skip is known for two big things, the first being his boss mustache and that he hit the 1st grand slam in Seattle Mariners history in May ‘77

Kudos to the Milwaukee Brewers for sending five planes to Tampa Bay, bringing along not only their players and families, but their entire front office staff and scouting and development departments.

Say hello to Balor Moore! He played for both Montreal and Toronto in the 1970’s AND Winnipeg in the minors (yes, this is baseball, not hockey). He tossed a perfect game in winter ball and since pitchers used to bat, you’ll be glad to know he hit .106 for his career with 6 RBI.

Connor Hellebuyck is settling into New Jersey after his blockbuster trade from Winnipeg, with his Devils debut potentially coming as early as this week. @RoryBoylen looks at what we learned about the deal, his preparation, the salary-cap implications and why New Jersey believes he can help turn it into a Stanley Cup contender. sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/wha…

For all those wondering “how did Hellebuyck get a mask with Devils colors so fast?”
Fans were shocked when Colten Ellis, within a day of being picked up by the Buffalo, showed up to practice wearing a mask with @BuffaloSabres’ artwork. This was thanks to @mags1023 who was able to wrap one of Ellis’ existing masks with new custom artwork with an hour of receiving it. (L - original R - with new wrap)

I must be the only one that sees the Giants kicker always has the ball fade right and there are never any adjustments. I hope Mr Zvada saved that game ball he got a couple of weeks ago because I don’t think he’ll be here after the bye week.

Michael McCarron accidentally knocked over this dude’s beer, so he came back & handed him a 20 Legend
