As of 10:30 AM, Georgia’s EMCs are reporting approximately 39,000 power outages statewide due to the impacts of Hurricane Isaias. Outage numbers may continue to fluctuate throughout the day as the storm moves through the state.
As Hurricane Isaias makes landfall on the Gulf Coast, Georgia’s Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) are on high alert and are prepared to respond to its impacts.

Today, we officially welcome Stan Wise back to the Georgia Public Service Commission. Appointed by Gov. Brian Kemp to complete District 5 Commissioner Tricia Pridemore’s term, Wise brings 24 years of prior PSC experience, including multiple terms as Chairman.

Last week we celebrated the 90th Anniversary of the enactment of the Rural Electrification Administration with the USDA @CarrollEMC. In large part thanks to the USDA/REA, GA’s EMCs have grown from a mechanism to bring light to rural farmland to being true partners in progress. 🤝
