To provide more time to fix some last minute translation issues (thanks to the reports in the bug tracker!), we are delaying the release of GTG 0.6 by a couple of days. The new target is between the middle and end of the 1st week of March if everything goes smoothly.

The "release candidate" version of GTG 0.6 is out there, and you can try it either from git or our beta flatpak version. We're hoping to release the final version in a week or so. Translators, now is a really good time to be checking out the git version! fortintam.com/blog/gtg-0-6-r…

We are aiming to release GTG 0.6 this month. If you haven't tested out the git version recently, now would be a great time to do so and ensure there are no last minute issues we might have overlooked!

If you are at ease with Git and can compare the version of GTG and liblarch "before and after the fix" with a heavy data set (i.e. thousands of tasks), now is your chance to verify that this occasional bug is indeed fully resolved!

Whoa, with @GetThingsGNOME 0.5, for the first time ever, my 1200+ tasks launch in 7 seconds. Before upgrading, version 0.4 needed 37 seconds to do the same thing. Switching between tags is also instantaneous, and so is searching. I underestimated those perf optimizations 🚀

🚨 We hope to publish a new release in the beginning of April 🚨 Now is your last chance to test the git version before this happens, or to provide updated (or new) translations if you want them to be part of the stable 0.5 release.

Really thrilled that @diego_gangl implemented my wish for a timer-based search in @GetThingsGNOME—now my searches take 3 secs (incl. typing) instead of 17! Are you a heavy GTG user? Try the git version & let me know what difference this makes on your end. github.com/getting-things-gn…

🔥 @diego_gangl's new file format has been merged in the Git version of GTG! 🔥 If you have some time to spare this week-end, please test the dev version and report any remaining issues you may find related to data. This will become GTG 0.5 very soon... github.com/getting-things-gn…

Poor @diego_gangl thought he was out of bugs, and now probably regrets asking me to test his new @GetThingsGNOME file format again, because this is how I do #QAtesting when I start actively trying to break your toys (did I miss anything? suggestions welcome 😈) #Python
