If you want to get into AI video creation and start creating storytelling videos for X, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, here's how to go about it. Let's say you have an idea for a simple story. “A young man leaves his village to look for a better life in Lagos.” That's all you need to start. First, use ChatGPT to develop the story. Tell ChatGPT what you have in mind and ask it to turn the idea into a short story. For example: “Write a short emotional story about a young Nigerian man who leaves his village for Lagos to look for a better life. Make it a 60 second story with a strong beginning, middle and ending.” ChatGPT can then give you the complete story and you can break it into different scenes. For example: Scene 1: The young man says goodbye to his mother. Scene 2: He boards a bus going to Lagos. Scene 3: He arrives in Lagos with just a small bag and little money. Scene 4: He struggles to find work. Scene 5: He finally gets an opportunity. Scene 6: He looks back at how far he has come. Next, you need to create your characters. You can use an AI image generator to create your main character. Give it details about how you want the character to look. For example: “A 24 year old Nigerian man with dark skin, short black hair and a slim build. He is wearing a simple blue shirt and black trousers. Realistic photography.” Once you have your character, you can use the image as a reference when creating the different scenes so the character remains as consistent as possible. Now you can turn the scenes into videos. You can use tools like Kling AI, Runway, Google Veo or Pika. For example, you can give the video generator a prompt like: “A young Nigerian man saying goodbye to his mother outside their modest family home in a rural Nigerian village. The mother is emotional while he carries a small backpack. Early morning, realistic cinematic look and natural body movement.” Generate that scene. Then create the next one: “The same young Nigerian man sitting beside a window on a bus travelling to Lagos. He is carrying a small backpack and looking outside quietly. Realistic cinematic style.” Continue doing this until you have all the scenes you need. The next thing is the voiceover. You can record your own voice, which is actually a good option if you want people to connect with you. You can also use an AI voice tool such as ElevenLabs. For example, your narration could be: “At 24, Daniel had only one thing on his mind. He wanted a better life. So one morning, he said goodbye to his mother and boarded a bus to Lagos.” Now you have your visuals and your narration. Put everything together in CapCut. Arrange the scenes in the right order, add your voiceover, background music, sound effects and captions. You can even add sounds that match the scenes. For example, you can add the sound of a bus when Daniel is travelling and city sounds when he arrives in Lagos. Finally, export the video and post it. For Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts, use a vertical 9:16 format. For regular YouTube videos, you can use 16:9. Your workflow is basically: Story idea ChatGPT for the story and script AI image generator for the characters Kling, Runway, Veo or Pika for the video scenes Your voice or ElevenLabs for narration CapCut for editing Then post on X, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube. You don't need to know professional filmmaking before you start. Start with a simple 30 to 60 second story, learn the tools and improve with every video you create. Save this post 📌
