It’s pretty obvious why rail shooters are a dead genre. Maybe they could start by improving their main characters? Like what if there was a rail shooter where you were a gorilla from the moon who had a big tesla cannon and was also a scientist

It's a shame rail shooters are mostly ignored because I do think they have a unique potential for cinematic level transitions and stuff. My favorites are like when you start above water and go under water or when you start outside a thing and then go inside the thing
