In 1945, six women pulled off a computing miracle.
They programmed the world’s first computer—with no manuals, no training.
Then, a SINGLE assumption erased them from tech history for decades.
The story of how ONE photo nearly deleted computing’s female founders: 🧵

No-one will stop Putin with phone calls. The attack last night, one of the biggest in this war, has proved that telephone diplomacy cannot replace real support from the whole West for Ukraine. The next weeks will be decisive, not only for the war itself, but also for our future.

IMHO, what lies ahead of us all is the most bloodletting period of Russia's war of extermination in Ukraine, and it begins now.
In the wake of Trump's initiatives regarding possible negotiations. Putin will triple Russia's efforts to inflict as much strategic damage on Ukraine as possible and to seize as much territory as possible, at absolutely any price.
This is going to be a terrible bloodbath, even compared with the carnage on battlefields in recent months.
The battle will be terrible, so helping Ukraine's military in his hour remains the #1 priority for those not in the ranks and those who want to stay with the free world.

I still occasionally pinch myself, even after all these years, when visiting places behind the former Iron Curtain. For instance, this is a building in #Riga I never thought in my worst nightmare I would ever enter: the KGB building. And it's as bad as I feared. – at Riga, Latvia

What's especially beautiful is that this moneybag who could never point Ukraine out on a map is now telling me, a guy from Donbas, and my community that we are actually ethnic Russians and want to go with Russia.
There's not a single drop of intellectual humility or sticking to the fact the world could not be that simplistic.
Maybe it's that you have no idea what you're talking about?
And that the vast majority of "ethnic" Russians" (who actually identify themselves as Russian-speaking Ukrainians) don't want to have anything in common with Putin's totalitarian hellhole, especially following terrible devastation that Russia brought upon Ukraine's south and east, where it swept off entire cities and regions?
Maybe it's that, especially given the catastrophe of 2022, even more eastern Ukrainians chose Ukraine and the West, so that's why they fled the war to settle down in other parts of Ukraine or in Europe?
Or maybe this is why a very large part of the Ukrainian military at war is the people of Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson, who hate Russia and fight it fiercely, knowing what it has done to their homeland and their own families?
How many men and women of Mariupol fight to have their revenge and defend the country from the plague of Russian fascism, next to the ones who lost their loved ones in Russian missile attacks on Lviv?
How many so-called "ethnic Russians" who have always identified themselves as Ukrainians now stay in free Ukraine, work jobs, pay taxes, run charities, send donations to buy drones, and take care of disabled veterans?
How many want to live in freedom, dignity, democracy, and pursuit of happiness, too?
But you know, David Sacks, in his infinite arrogance and ignorance, thinks he knows better.

North Korea recently tested a new ballistic missile, with record flight time and altitude. The world merely watches as this threat grows.
Through Moscow’s assistance, North Korea has advanced its artillery and missile capabilities. Now, they are learning the tactics of modern warfare. Thousands of North Korean soldiers are already near Ukraine’s borders, preparing to fight. And the world is still watching.
We know where these North Korean troops are gathering in Russia. We could act preemptively if we had the means—long-range capability. Yet, America, the UK, and Germany watch.
We understand the logistics pipeline between Russia and North Korea that enables this aggression, and it must be stopped. Strong Asian nations, including China, have a role to play. If China truly advocates for ending the war, it must act.

If the men who stormed the beaches at Normandy heard that trump was wishing he had Hitler's generals (the same people they were fighting), and said Hitler did some good things, they would vote for Kamala Harris.
The answer is obvious.

Why did Putin drag North Korea into the war on Ukraine?
Because he knew there would be no severe consequences.
Moreover, I would not be surprised if the U.S. talks South Korea out of sending military aid to Ukraine in order to “avoid escalation” and “prevent the globalization of the war” — to the detriment of Ukraine and America’s own effort in helping it.
Today, we have the boots of Kim’s slaves on the ground. Next year, Putin will be overtly posing ultimatums to the West and threatening a nuclear strike on Kyiv - because he believes he can and because no one is going to stop him.
The entire history of this war is a vicious circle of only making this war worse and more complicated by going the easiest way possible and encouraging Putin to escalate his aggression.

The man in question was convicted *in his absence* by an Albanian court, of charges he denies. He was unaware of his trial, and there is no prospect of a retrial. The Home Office’s own evidence stated that “constitutional guarantees of due process are upheld inconsistently” in Albania and “trial procedures can be affected by corruption within the judicial system and are sometimes closed to the public.”
That is the reason for the decision not to deport him.
Which part of this judgment (linked below) do you, as an alleged lawyer, say is “madness”?

Reform UK plan tax cuts which they say will cost £70bn; however our analysis shows the actual cost will be at least £93bn.
And their funding figures are out by £15bn+
All this means Reform UK have a total unfunded cost of at least £38bn - about two Liz Trusses.
