Building partnerships. Empowering the taxi industry. Promoting safer roads. The eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) joined the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) at its Regional Transport Month Roadshows over the last two weeks, reaffirming the City’s commitment to working alongside the taxi industry to advance transformation, empowerment and sustainable public transport. Through ongoing collaboration, the ETA continues to engage with and support the industry through programmes and initiatives that contribute to the development of the sector, while reinforcing the importance of road safety and responsible road use. Together with SANTACO and fellow law enforcement, transport and road safety stakeholders, we remain committed to building a safer, more inclusive and sustainable public transport environment for all. Partnership in action. Progress through collaboration. #TransportMonth #eThekwiniTransportAuthority #SANTACO #RoadSafety #PublicTransport #TransformationAndEmpowerment

Know before you go. Good public transport starts with good information. Passenger information systems planned for GO!Durban are designed to help people understand their journey from where to go and where to board, to information about services and connections. Because when information is clear, the journey becomes easier. As the City prepares for GO!Durban operations, passenger information is an essential part of creating a more connected and user friendly public transport experience. Clear information. Better decisions. Easier journeys. #GO!Durban #AdvancingPublicTransport

Safety starts with how a transport system is designed. CCTV forms an important part of the planned GO!Durban safety and security environment, supporting greater visibility across passenger areas and enabling incidents to be monitored and responded to through the City’s transport management systems. GO!Durban is about creating an environment where safety is not simply a response after something happens, but an integral part of how the public transport system is designed. As GO!Durban moves towards operations, these systems will form part of a broader approach to creating a safer passenger experience. Safer journeys start with safer systems. #GO!Durban #AdvancingPublicTransport

TRANSFORMATION IN MOTION Advancing Public Transport through GO!Durban Public transport transformation is about more than putting buses on the road. It is about creating a system that is safer, more reliable, more efficient and accessible to more people. As eThekwini prepares for the next phase of GO!Durban, work is continuing to put the infrastructure, systems, people and services in place for a modern public transport network. From passenger safety and information systems to universal access and scheduled services, every feature has a role to play. Because transformation is not one moment. It is the work happening now to build a better journey for tomorrow. #GO!Durban #Progress #Prosperity #Community Wellbeing
