#ESTIC2026 the mega 3-day International “Emerging Science Technology Innovation Conclave” begins at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on October 27. Let’s all be a part of this.

#Kolkata, today, wears an entirely different look, with fragrance of newfound rejuvenation ready to restore Bengal to it’s pristine glory. A proud sense of vindication towards Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee dominated the mind as greetings were exchanged in the first formal official meeting with Sh Suvendu Adhikari (@SuvenduWB), who has recently taken over as Chief Minister of W.Bengal's first-ever BJP government. At the meeting, later joined by officers from the Central and State governments, several decisions were taken on the spot and several plans finalised for near future. Arsenic effect in drinking water and itspossible poisoning potential in affected districts of West Bengal to be studied through State's Central CSIR institutions. Drug trials of cancer and antimicrobial therapies by State's Central DST institutions to engage State institutes, Government Medical Colleges, Cancer Hospitals and other State medical networks. Centre's flagship programmes involving StartUps, AI, Quantum etc, as well as youth and student related programmes like INSPIRE, INSPIRE MANAK, Vigyan Jyoti for school girls, KIRAN and WISE for women, would be implemented in a coordinated manner to harness W.Bengal's vast under-explored resources. Convergence of scientific institutions, academia, healthcare infrastructure and innovation ecosystems to be carried out to create a new role model of growth for Eastern India. As a follow-up, serial meetings will be held between State and Central representatives to finalise a roadmap that enables the “double engine” Sarkar to live upto PM @narendraModi’s grand vision for W.Bengal.

Addressed the programme organised by the Technology Development Board (TDB) at Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, to sign agreements for five projects under the "Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund" Scheme, issue the first electronic fund disbursement, and release compendium on the status report of the RDI Scheme. Address Takeaways: "India’s future growth in deep-tech sectors will depend on the country’s ability to adopt a trusted integrated approach. RDI Fund Scheme is aimed at accelerating private sector participation in research and development. Quantum and AI sovereignty, along with indigenous ecosystems will define India's next-generation growth. Post-Quantum cryptography and Quantum-safe infrastructure are also essential for long-term national security".

#LokSabha : My response on “Rare Earth Corridor and Rare Earth Minerals”. #DAE

“From dependency to self-reliance, the journey of ‘Rare Earth’ has already begun. Strategic investments, new processing capacities and allowing the participation of private players are setting the foundation for long-term Energy security.” #LokSabha

16 February 2026 marks a historic landmark… the first full working day at the new PMO. This transition from the shadows of colonial governance to the vibrant corridors of public service, from the imperial South Block to the emancipated Seva Teerth, has been possible only and only because of PM @narendramodi’s firm conviction and persistent resolve. Rare fortune to be among the last to have worked from the 100 year old #SouthBlock and, at the same time, among the first to work from the new #SevaTeerth.

The two and a half hour Chennai-Delhi flight offered ample opportunity to go through the pages of a new publication “Human Edge in the AI Age”. An attempt by the author Nitin Seth to identify, which are according to him, the human strengths that could enable one to stay ahead and possibly maintain the human edge in an age of Artificial Intelligence. Worth a quick read…particularly when many of us are looking forward to participate in the upcoming “India AI Impact Summit 2026” beginning tomorrow at New Delhi.

Walk-around of India’s first university-based research park at #IIT Madras in #Chennai… Immersive Technology & Entrepreneurship Labs (ITEL) Foundation, established in July 2024 and now keenly followed by other institutions and universities as well, comprises a successful consortium model that brings together academic institutions, industry leaders and investors to co-develop technologies and transfer them directly to the commercial sector.

Addressed the inaugural ceremony of 2-day  "Research Industry StartUp Entrepreneurship #RISEconclave2026 #Chennai:           Key Takeaways:       "We were just around 350 #StartUps 2014 , before PM @narendramodi declared Start Up India, StandUp India from the ramparts of Red Fort on Independence Day. Today , we have over 2 lakh StartUps generating over 21 lakh jobs and we stand Rank 3 in the world.           Extensive public-private sector engagement is key to every sustainable venture and the Central government has come out with several enabling provisions for the same.     India’s innovation ecosystem has matured to a stage where opportunities are fully democratised and accessible to all. I would rather strongly advocate an Industry driven StartUp model, coupled with a decisive shift in mindset.          Tamil Nadu enjoys the legacy of rich academic and research tradition. It is from here that world-class export quality products, like for example, variety of leather footwears, fashion bags, as well as cost effective medical devices etc are hailed globally. But, with the kind of vast potential here, more could be done to enhance Tamil Nadu's contribution in India's StartUp story. We would also urge upon the State government to be more forthcoming in this regard".

On the first day of the 2-day #Chennai visit, arrived at the Chennai Trade Centre for #RISEconclave2026…. seeking to bring #StartUps, entrepreneurs, Industry, under one roof; connecting them with mentors , potential hand holders and Venture Capital sources.

….Into the realms of “literature and poetry”, “Adab-o-Shayari”!
