Great words from @CanterburyPark @CBYTrackFlack @AngelaHermann15 about the impact of Horse Racing in Minnesota, everyone in Minnesota especially politicians, should listen to this. STOP attacking horse racing in Minnesota!! The tracks pose zero harm to the tribes and casinos!

I never shared this photo because the symmetry is off and no matter how I cropped it, I didn't like it, but, I'm sharing it now. I decided to embrace the asymmetry because it's all about those gorgeous colors, anyway. 📍Sprague Lake, RMNP, Colorado

Both parties have had full control of the government multiple times in 50 years. Healthcare is still broken. Housing is still unaffordable. Costs go up. Wages are still stagnant. The argument that one side is the solution is no longer believable.

I understand no more 10.000 lakes motto. Minnesota is the great Turkey state. In more ways than one
Nearly every grocery store turkey is one breed, and it can't mate. The commercial bird is the Broad Breasted White, and it's bred for breast meat. A 2009 Penn State report put it at more than 99% of grocery store turkeys. A USDA research magazine said in 1998 that the size difference between toms and hens makes natural mating difficult and that virtually all hens are artificially inseminated. The Merck Veterinary Manual says large, heavily muscled birds are unable to physically complete mating. A hen reaches market weight in about 14 weeks at roughly 15 to 17 pounds. A tom takes about 18 weeks and comes in around 38 to 41 pounds. The US raised 194 million turkeys in 2025, according to USDA, and is forecast at about 199 million this year, with Minnesota raising the most.

This app everyday wins, hotels removing coffee makings from rooms, I never trusted them, lobby for coffee even though it’s normally not great. Washing underwear in coffee makers is wild, but here we are on this app.

🚨 WHAT IS HAPPENING IN LOUISVILLE? FBI ACTIVITY REPORTED ACROSS MULTIPLE NEIGHBORHOODS Something is unfolding in Louisville, Kentucky, and residents are taking notice. Early Thursday morning, FBI agents were spotted operating in several areas throughout Louisville Metro, prompting residents to reach out with reports of federal agents appearing in their neighborhoods. Reports came in from Lyndon all the way out past Valley Station. The FBI has confirmed that agents are conducting what the agency describes as “court-authorized activity” throughout the Metro area. Officials say there is no threat to public safety. However, they are keeping the details tightly under wraps, citing ongoing investigations. Here’s another interesting detail: the FBI says it anticipates holding a news conference at a later date. That leaves plenty of questions unanswered. What investigations are underway? Are these operations connected, or are agents working multiple cases simultaneously? And what exactly prompted such widespread federal activity? For now, the FBI isn’t talking. We’ll be watching for updates. Sometimes the most interesting part of a story is what officials aren’t ready to tell the public yet. What are Louisville residents seeing in their neighborhoods?

Excuse me, that is our tax money, each paycheck every time you buy something, it comes directly out of our pocket. I would prefer my tax money be used correctly.
Replying to @Vikeologist
Because fraud doesn’t come out of your pocket like gas prices and tariffs do. And when you have Klobuchar also campaigning to clean up fraud, Repubs offered nothing else.

Hobby Pilots and hobby planes need to be banned, this is bigger issue than what most people know about
You can legally load your whole family into a single-engine plane and fly them over the ocean with about 40 hours of flying lessons. That's roughly one work week. Once you have the license, the FAA asks you to go up with an instructor once every two years. Airline pilots need 1,500 hours just to get hired, and they're back in a simulator getting tested every single year. You can see what that does in the crash data. Personal flights, meaning weekend trips and family vacations, had 21.1 fatal accidents per million flight hours between 2012 and 2021. Student pilots on training flights, mostly in the same kind of small planes, had 2.3. So the people still learning to fly crash about 9 times less often than the people who already passed. Compared to your car, personal flying in a small plane comes out about 27 times deadlier per hour. Worse than a motorcycle. When investigators go through the wreckage, about 69% of the time they pin the crash on the pilot. Mechanical problems caused 7% of the deadly ones in 2021. Even an engine quitting, which is what everybody pictures, killed people in 6 of 57 cases that year. The biggest killer is flying into bad weather, and it comes down to your inner ear. There's fluid in there that sloshes around when you turn, and that's how your brain knows you're tilting. Hold a gentle turn for about 15 seconds and the fluid settles down, so your brain decides you're flying straight again. When you can see the horizon you catch it right away. Inside a cloud there's nothing to look at, so the plane keeps tipping, the nose drops, the speed climbs, and your body keeps telling you everything's fine. Back in 1954, the University of Illinois put 20 pilots with zero instrument training into simulated clouds. Every one of them lost control of the plane. It took 178 seconds on average, a little under three minutes. Pilots still end up in clouds they were never trained for, and more than 75% of those crashes kill someone. No weather accident in small planes is deadlier. Small-plane people have joked about this since the 1950s. The Beechcraft Bonanza was one of the fastest single-engine planes you could buy, and so many wealthy doctors bought one and crashed it that people started calling it the "doctor killer." When people finally ran the numbers, the Bonanza crashed about as often as any other small plane. It just had a lot of rich owners with more money than flight time. Look at the back of that cabin. One teenager's asleep under a plaid blanket and the other one's buried in a book. The biggest safety feature on that flight is the judgment of whoever's sitting up front.
