Me on the death of the Washington Post sports section.
This isn't a day to be nostalgic. It's a day to be angry.

Learned more about the NHL CBA — and hockey in general — than I ever imagined I would know editing his Sunday Slap Shots column for years, but more importantly learned what a gifted writer and reporter he was, how easy he was to work with and how much he cared about the job. RIP.

What gets me f*cked up is that fact that these "nontraditional media forms" are not new kinds of media! TikTok news anchors literally make our stories their video backgrounds Social media's profit model is using our work and not to paying us for it. It's a rip-off engine.

It’s three years ago today that we lost our dear friend Anthony Causi, and I miss him a little extra tonight because I’m covering a big game in New York, the kind Anthony would capture better with one click of his finger than I ever could in 750 words.

First time I covered an ACC tourney in Greensboro I was struck by the history on the walls. The old newspapers. Now they underscore a dying medium. A once-proud paper can barely cover its city's main event. On that, and a longtime columnist finding peace: newsobserver.com/sports/coll…
