Around here there's a tier of summer hockey that exists purely so parents can say their kid is in it.
The name matters more than the ice. The instagram story matters more than the coaching. The story you get to tell at the office matters most of all.
Expensive way to buy a sentence.

My kid hasn't touched the ice in two weeks. He's been riding his bike until dark and losing wiffle ball games to the neighbor kid.
He looks more like a hockey player to me right now than he did in March.

The best coaches are leaving hockey. Constant pressure and criticism are burning out the people who truly develop players, and the game is losing some of its strongest leaders, writes Coach @Eags37. hubs.la/Q042sdDg0
