I have not seen a single person on here mention ONE IN A MILLION. I didn't realize it came out this weekend myself. Anyway, it's among the best docs of 2026, and it deserves more attention.
It's an incredible weekend to see a movie. Here's the best films now playing in theaters: Possible Love You Can See Everything NAZA Fatherland Once Upon a Time in Harlem Wildwood The Only Living Pickpocket in New York Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother Wicker One in a Million La Bola Negra See more and read our reviews: thefilmstage.com/the-best-mo…

Snuck in the new Qin Pengfei - it rocks - before heading to AFIFEST for a long day of cinema, like a true soldier for cinema (an insane person) does.

I remember some internet cretin yelling at me on here years ago for suggesting that Lee Chang-dong > Bong Joon Ho. The comparison is reducive, sure, but hun, it's not particularly close.
After eight years of patiently waiting, thrilled, but hardly surprised to find that Lee Chang-dong did not disappoint

Whalefall- The film’s interwoven structure undermines its intensity and viscerality, undercutting its protagonist’s desperate struggle for survival with a rote daddy-issues emotional through line that never quite lands. There is a version of this that is an 85 min face melter

I'll be back in Baltimore next week for my mother's 75th birthday. I may have issues because, for the last few weeks, I've wondered whether she would be down to see THE DEVILS (she wouldn't be). In retrospect, we can just go ahead and annex the "may" from the above statement

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother & The Rivals of Amziah King would actually be a pretty inspired double bill

Don't ask me how, but Nicolás Pereda, Hong Sang-soo, and Martín Rejtman should team up to develop the ultimate hangout film.

Between NAZA and YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER YOUR MOTHER, it should be a good weekend at the movies for cool people (me)

The thing I've realized working in this industry for 20+ years? The more you love cinema, the more they pretend you don't understand basic economics.

It's all fucked by insecurity and the conception that someone can't love cinema, understand it, and be good at math/business. It's particularly funny when half of them routinely embrace the fallacies of empiricism and then get confused when their AI algorithm is way off... 🤡

Sorry if this offends but Digger is Iñárritu's best film. Not saying much, sure, but this is a far more interesting self-reflexive meta-satire than people are giving it credit for. Frankly, I don't get the vitriol thrown at this film...even if one can't get on its wavelength..

Same lol. Typically, I'm far more interested in divisive than consensus cinema - the latter doesn't actually exist - so I'm excited to see Digger early next week.
im too geeked to see digger tomorrow 😭 i’ve got texts from friends saying it’s good and it’s shit loooool

Need the third installment of Thomas Arslan's Trojan trilogy announced sooner rather than later. The fourteen-year gap between IN THE SHADOWS and SCORCHED EARTH is not acceptable to replicate. Someone give this man some money, stat.
