I don’t know how to explain how I feel when I watch #100DaysofDeception. With most ongoing dramas, I feel excitement, but this drama leaves me quiet. I mean I’m excited by the acting, these actors are so good, but the story itself silences me every time. There’s something about its themes of independence and the fight for freedom that just leaves me sitting with my thoughts. I don’t even know how to fully describe it.
Only one of them was faced with the most difficult task, one that could have made him lose everything and yet stayed by his partner, had the most beautiful character development to ever exist, Only one of them died a hero. Just one.
Lateefah, remove him from there, don’t anger me😩😭
If you were to pick among these toxic characters: Luke from #TheEarlySpring, Cha Se Gye from #MyRoyalNemesis, and Yu Changxuan from #TheLamentOfAutumn, who are you picking???
Yes bcs the story is much more focused on the female rivalry. Meanwhile, the emperor is the instigator of all of this..a proper bastd.
But my own is why is Rashta the only villain in this story? Cos how am I supposed to only hate a girl who was sold into slavery, went thru so much, and got to a point where she either had to do the king’s bidding or go back to slavery? Whether she changed into something else, that’s another topic.
How am I going to only hate her and leave out the people who upheld the very system that traumatized her? There are other issues in this story, but we're always focused on Rashta.

no we’re not not gonna do the “both are victims” bullshit with navier. navier is as evil as her first husband. she benefits directly from the system that oppresses rashta, deliberately befriends her owner, & (re)marries a psycho war criminal so she could keep her ‘empress’ status

So true.
And the irony is that even her ordinary life with Xueting was never safe. His choices dragged her into danger long before ChangXuan did.
In the end, she only got that quiet life after losing almost everything

Tbh, those times, marriages and relationships were purely business. And that was why Changxuan couldn’t understand why she kept rejecting. He had everything she could leverage on, Infact she didn’t have anything she could offer him in return, unless his love for her.
Pingjun just wanted an ordinary life with xueting, but one way or the other, living an ordinary life doesn’t even exempt you from chaos.

I always find it amusing how they try to make the Empress, who hated slaves, yet was friends with those who owned them and profited from slavery – look like the victim. Instead of getting angry with the Emperor, who is also manipulating a young girl. You’re funny

I posted a video of Rashta being disrespectful to the Empress, and the quotes have actually been quite interesting. Some of them are making me rethink my initial position.
I'm not saying Rashta is right or that she doesn't have her own issues. But people are raising a question I honestly hadn't thought much about. Why do we think the Empress is innocent when she governs a society that permits slavery and even dines with people who own slaves?
I think some of these perspectives are coming from Webtoon readers. One thing I don't like about Kdrama adaptations of Webtoons is how much they leave out. There are so many details that help build a character and explain why they are the way they are.
Idk, but I think these comments have made me shift my focus a little from the romance..
See ehn, I was initially willing to understand Sovieshu's decision to take another woman because he wanted an heir and needed to secure his throne.
That, I could understand from a political standpoint.
But then I noticed his shift in attitude and the sheer disrespect he began showing the Empress.
He humiliated her by taking a slave girl.
Now that's just one less problem o
He went ahead again ,to change palace rules to accommodate Rashta.
How did he even switch attitude like that?
What kind of disrespect is that?
Oh boy!! I'm boiling!! 😡

Maybe I missed it, but when the Emperor went to punish Rashta’s former master, did he also free the other slaves??

I was like she’s so brave tbh
Queen! Because she doesn't even mind losing her own father if it means fighting for Korea's independence

We also forget changxuan was not offering her marriage. He was offering her the position of mistress 💀

But hang on, I don't know if it's a lack of awareness or what, bcs Taewung’s attitude makes it seem like he actually thought his adoptive father was a good man. That man has never shown any kindness towards Koreans, so seeing him flare up over this is confusing me. Like, what exactly did he expect?
