The #NFL is so talented. I can't believe all 32 teams aren't 9-8.

#DidYouKnow that the reason baseball teams wear grey uniforms on the road is that when they traveled in the old days they couldn't launder as often, so they just defaulted to grey because it wouldn't show dirt and sweat, etc as much as white threads.

One of my favorite, under the radar #baseball stats is Richie Hebner in 1980 with the #Tigers. 82 RBI in 341 AB!! That's comparable to about 150 RBI in 600 AB. The ole gravedigger!

We had one of these bad boys near my house in #Livonia but my folks said their burgers were "too salty."

As a player, negotiating through the media rarely works in your favor. Especially if you do it during the season. Add in a "I don't really care if I stay here or not" and you've mixed a potent cocktail of "I'm fucked with the fans" on the rocks. #Lions
Sam LaPorta on not receiving an extension from the Lions, via @PardonMyTake: "You know, like last year, whatever it was, Week 9, Week 10, you know, I break my fucking back for the team and then I'm going out there this year and I'm balling and maybe they're just not showing the love ... And in three months, if I don't get to wear the Honolulu blue and play for the Lions anymore, it's going to be all good. I'll go get paid somewhere else."

Raise your hand if you remember the giant bird cage in Westland Mall. I also remember how cool it was that Hughes & Hatcher had an upstairs and a downstairs.

WHY is there no newsreel footage of his AB? All I usually see is that ONE pic of Eddie in the box with #Tigers catcher Bob Swift.
Although some men have worn a lesser number mathematically (i.e., zero), Eddie Gaedel remains the only @mlb player with a fraction on his jersey.

The 1977 #Topps set meant that all #Mariners and #BlueJays photos had to be airbrushed because there was no precedent.

This 1975 #Topps set was interesting in that the cards were released in two DIFFERENT SIZES: the traditional size and a version that was about 2/3 size. Not sure why.

This is the deepest #Pistons team I can remember in many years. Seems like JB can go 12 deep on any given night. That said, the East is a Beast and 60 wins ain't happening. But that doesn't mean they won't be a better TEAM for what they've gone through the past 2 playoffs.

Notice anything missing on the 1972 #Topps set? It's why I'm not a big fan.

TIL that Jim Mora Sr. was 0-6 lifetime in playoff games with the #Saints and #Colts.

Fuck yes! When these gems landed in my mailbox every month it was as good as Sloppy Joe's for dinner! I actually used BD to get a pen pal who lived in #NewJersey: Michael Maurer, a #Yankees fan. We wrote to each other throughout the summer of 1977. I wonder where he is now.

The 1971 (black rimmed) and 1973 #Topps baseball cards were the cleanest, IMO. Just perfect. Loved the player silhouettes on the '73 cards. Also liked the all lower case names on the '71 version. #Tigers #RedSox

I was told the #Rams were an unstoppable force and would run roughshod over the #NFL.

My local Cunningham's drugs had the wax packages and machines that took quarters. We were convinced that the harder you pulled the lever, the more cards you got. Of course, machines meant no gum. #Tigers
