#LeafsForever select Easton Cowan 28th overall. I ranked him 109th overall. Cowan is a small forward who played most of his D-1 in the GOJHL and then scored well under a point per game in the OHL in his draft year. Players with this profile rarely get selected in the 1st round.

Noticed that Hiller waited til 92 buried one then immediately moved him down to L3 and moved Cowan up to L2. Guessing that was his plan for awhile but wanted to make sure it didn’t feel like a demotion for the kid. Smart coaching.

Gary Bettman believes the NHL has gotten away from the original purpose of no-trade clauses 👀 Bettman says they were intended to protect players signing long-term in a place they wanted to stay, not allow them to demand a trade AND dictate where they’re willing to go. He says if this becomes a bigger problem, the NHL may have to address it with the Players’ Association 🤔
