Schlitz Beer. The beer your dad drank when he wasn't trying to impress anybody. They could put a beautiful woman in the commercial all they want, but there was no hiding what was in that can.
Bonus points if you can name that actress!
Something we took for granted growing up was knowing our neighbors' voices. You could tell who was calling their kids home from three houses away.
Every family had its own whistle, yell, or nickname. And somehow, every kid knew exactly when to come running.

The one thing I always checked first when the new TV Guide arrived was ________.

RoboCop was a better action movie than The Terminator.
Chuck Norris was more intimidating than Steven Seagal.
And Carl Weathers deserved his own blockbuster action franchise.
Change my mind.

Not every childhood memory needs a photograph. Our generation remembers the smell of Grandma's kitchen, the sound of Dad pulling into the driveway, and the voices of friends we haven't seen in decades.
No camera captured those moments.
Somehow, they're still with us.

We may be the last generation that enjoyed life without needing more. One television, a handful of channels, the same vacation spot every summer. We didn't spend our childhood chasing the next best thing. We enjoyed what was right in front of us.

It's Saturday morning, 7:00 AM. You're the first one awake. Your parents are sleeping. You walk into the living room.
I'll start the story: "I turned on the TV and..."

The older I get, the more I appreciate being raised before everything came with an instruction manual. We learned by watching, trying, failing, and trying again. Today's world offers a tutorial for everything. Ours taught us to trust ourselves.

Three legendary movie props. One impossible decision. Are you taking the leg lamp, Freddy's glove, or the Ghostbusters P.K.E. Meter?
You can only bring ONE home.
Which one are you grabbing?

Some of us are old enough to remember when being a good neighbor actually meant something. You shoveled their sidewalk, watched their house, and helped without being asked. We didn't need a community app. We had an actual community.

I'm seeing a whole lot of pictures of meat on my timeline today, so I figured I'd throw this beauty into the mix. Who remembers this monster?
Name the movie, and bonus points if you remember what they called this legendary steak!

Back in my day, you didn't throw away a broken television. Somebody took the back off, checked the tubes, or called a repairman who showed up with a toolbox.
We lived in a world where fixing something came before replacing it. I miss that mentality.
