Working on the art of Craftsmanship. Ss " it's the work you do when you are mindful". This eagle is a direct representation of pride in one's work. We have completed pencil crayon, marker and crayon, up next chalk + oil pastels for our beaver + raven! #art

To augment the teachings of the eagle, students worked to create wire eagle feathers. Each student added 3 beads that represent someone or something that they loved. These hang above "big love" table, reminding us of the love that surrounds us. "This makes my ❤️ feel really good"

Where do you live? Prior to our focus on 3 Canadian communities, we will be taking time to create concentric ⚫ to gain an understanding of where we are in relation to the world. Did we mention circles are involved - connectedness, equality and equity tie this together. #space

#thesevensacredanimals teaching of the bear brought the notion of bravery and courage to our classroom. Next we turn our focus to the turtle as he guides us through truth and honesty. #wearecbe #indigenousteachings #learningthroughthearts

Creating an alphabet wall is important - Ss "if you don't have your letters the right way then words don't make sense and then you don't have a story to tell." Patterns and literacy made this unique wall of letters possible. #wearecbe

How did you observe #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay with your students? We used our carpet as an artifact canvas where we placed all of our indigenous learning on to. Students were invited to converse, connect and reflect as a culminative journey. @GWSHinder @GWGreyWolves

Today we recognized #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay by creating "memory ropes", culminating this year's #landbasedlearning. The seed beads represent the importance of Indigenous culture, and the feather as an offering of gratitude we learned from the Iroquois people. @GWSHinder

Today we worked as artists, drawing ourselves as "botanical beauties", "Na'a Friends" or "children of nature" as many of them decided to call it. Water colour, guided drawing and mindful painting have brought these to life 🌸🌿 @GWSHinder @GWGreyWolves #littleartists #botanical

Busy Building Students independently took part in creating a 'Rock Scale'. They worked together placing rocks, discussing rocks + deciding rock positions. Truly magical to see our little friends engaging in learning through play during their recess time. @GWSHinder @GWGreyWolves

•Math Visuals• These beauties were found in my backyard. After pressing, they have been laminated and backed as skip counting tools that allow for students to use both their hands and their eyes to assist in tracking their counting. 1's 3's + 5's so far. #WeAreCBE @GWSHinder
