Extended look @ ‘28 RHP Kasey Carman (MI)…. #MWChampsCup

‘28 RHP Kasey Carman (MI) was electric in this one. Flashed 89 & lived 84-88. Supplemented the FB w/ a slurvy breaking ball in the low 7s. Fanned 13 (!!) in his 5 innings while only allowing 3 H & 1 BB. #MWChampsCup @PG_OhioValley
Got to see him up close today, and he was DEALIN’. Ran it up to 89 and struck out 13 against the Cubs Scout Underclass, following a 9K outing two weeks ago.
The real deal. College coaches, don’t wait too long on this uncommitted 2028.

Following our Alumni Game, we got to celebrate RHP and former Hackett baseball star @PrestonCosby77’s commitment to Eastern Michigan University. Looking forward to watching PCos light it up for the Eagles. ⛽️
Led by @max_gerl, who was honorary coach due to injury, young guys won our HCP baseball alumni game on a walkoff sac fly from @verdu5david deep to LF to knock in @LucasCosby6, who had tripled. They take home the hardware.
100 HCP family members and former players celebrated 6 years of baseball under Coach Smiley Verduzco’s leadership, playing an alumni game. During his time, Irish were 148-60 with 4 Regional Championships and a State Title in 2021. “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” #SOUL

Stats from last night’s game
6 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 11 K’s

Head Coach Smiley Verduzco and support staff Steve Verduzco, Mike Ogrin, Daniel Backman and Paul Higgins are retiring from Hackett baseball.
In 6 years, Coach Smiley compiled a 148-60 record, Hackett’s first 4 Regional Championships ever and a State Championship in 2021.
But more than the wins and championships, the most lasting impact coach Smiley made was on the tremendous players he coached. Hackett is a special place filled with special people. The administration, families and students make it great. #SOUL
