A statement on yesterday…..
Everything I said in that interview was true. However, rest assured I’m doing my best to turn things round.
I have been in a mental health clinic for the last 10 weeks, finally discharging so I could attempt to play in Belfast
I owed that to my family, in particular my daughter to see me play for what could be the last time….. I also owed it to the fans who have supported me throughout my 21 years on tour
I also owed that to World Snooker who have been amazing from day on in all this, in particular Simon Brownell and Neil Tomkins who have remained in touch regularly, even Simon paying me a visit in the clinic itself
I’m not ok, but I’m ok in that itself. I’ve been much worse in the last few months than you saw yesterday. I literally didn’t see a future in anything…..
My daughter kept me going, the therapists, staff and all the other patients were amazing and helped me through some really dark days
I see the light now that I couldn’t see before but I do now. I also know it won’t happen overnight. I’m a work in progress!!! My fight and determination on the table has always been there for ones to see. I need to show those same fighting qualities off it now for a while
Please don’t detract anything from Jordan yesterday, he’s been aware of my struggles and that can’t have been easy to play in but he handled it with grace and skill as I knew he would. Im proud to call him a friend
I hope the rest of the event is a success and I will continue my treatments going forward and then see what’s ahead

I believe it is irresponsible, as a doctor, for you to be commenting on evidence you know nothing about. Babies died, they have parents. It's not a game.
Doctor Caldwell appears to be in mental decline and also knows nothing about the case, has no relevant expertise, is not a neonatologist, and has not seen any of the evidence.
His post graduate training was diabetes and endocrinology - 2 months ago this was his level of knowledge on the insulin babies - it hasn't improved.

I agree. There are many areas of evidential weakness on this case. But, as a doctor, what I think is incredibly worrying is how implausible most of the medical evidence put forward by the police, CPS, prosecution and so called expert witnesses was. To anyone who has practised medicine for any reasonable length of time, most of it just doesn’t hold water and, to be honest, reflects a complete lack of understanding of the practise of medicine and of physiology, pathophysiology and basic medical sciences.

Morris argues that the air embolism theory was never properly established and more conventional explanations were available.
This article shows that what Morris presents wasn’t overlooked at all.
The jury did not hear a simple prosecution narrative free from competing explanations. They heard those explanations and ultimately rejected them.

The reason the scientist flagged for it to be sent to Guildford is because the Liverpool lab did not have the blood glucose readings.
Regarding not being able to detect exogenous insulin it can detect some forms of exogenous insulin, most notably Actrapid as the table in the screenshot shows. This is also why the second scientist said every suspected insulin case should go to Guildford.

Now when you put it all together. The results, the blood glucose results and the fact that the assay can detect Actrapid this shows your points have no merit whatsoever.
It’s also very ironic that my initial response was to you replying to someone else that they “need to do better”.

If it’s not new evidence then it’s got no chance of getting her out.
The point about quibbling over what “consistent with” means is quite possibly the daftest take of the lot.
Walk me through how that particular point works as a basis of appeal.
