Same day. Same time. Different temperatures. 🌡️
Our sensors recorded 29.5°C in Postman’s Park vs 33.4°C at Monument, just minutes apart.
The difference? 🌳 Green infrastructure.

#Breakfast on @BBCRadio3 from #Auschwitz on #HolocaustMemorialDay: outstanding. I had misgivings. But @PetrocTrelawny is such a gifted broadcaster: all was done with the utmost sensitivity. A 3 hour reflective sequence of words & music that will repay future listening. Thank you.

The Great O Antiphons are a series of short verses which count down the days to Christmas Eve. Sung at the beginning and end of the Magnificat during Evensong, each antiphon begins with a different name for Jesus. They draw on Scripture to help us learn about who Jesus will be, as predicted by the prophets.
Here at Westminster Abbey, these antiphons are sung at Evensong from 17 to 23 December. This year, we have recorded them in our beautiful 13th-century Chapter House and will be releasing a new video on the appointed day for each antiphon. You're invited to observe this Advent tradition with us as we await the coming of Christ at Christmas.
We begin today with O Wisdom: 'O Wisdom, which camest out of the mouth of the most high, and reachest from one end to another mightily, and sweetly ordering all things. Come and teach us the way of prudence.'
On Sunday 28th April we're celebrating Noël Coward's connections with Hampstead and Highgate with a miscellany of extracts from his plays and musical numbers. Here's a reel by Robert Hazle from the Noël Coward Foundation with more details. Come along if you can!

The breach at Short Ferry has flooded a vast area of farmland up to Barlings Abbey and Newball. This would normally be the Viking Way! It gives an idea of the setting of the abbey on the fen island of Oxeney surrounded by the limewoods – at Bardney, England

#StainedGlassSunday 🧵 A story: this stained glass panel is part of the east window in Tattershall Holy Trinity Church in Lincolnshire. The church was originally filled with colourful glass in the 15th century, but sometime during the 1700s it was removed...

An alternative and equally plausible theory is that Agatha Christie had somehow evaded being adjusted to the Gregorian Calendar along with everyone else born after 1752, and thus has to be reset by the shadowy forces that control Big Time.

Just a short amount of time spent in #nature can help you to find a sense of calm & joy 💚
Whether you’re relaxing in the garden or on your way to work, try listening out for birdsong, look for bees & butterflies, or notice the movement of the clouds.
