Volunteers give their time to most NHS boards in Scotland, making a HUGE difference to staff, patients and families. In 2023-24:
👫an average of 3,485 NHS volunteers per month
⏰gave a total of 584,000 hours of service
💷contributing the equivalent of £11.5m

ALT In 2023-24, an average of 3,485 NHS Scotland volunteers gave their time every month (a 19% increase on the previous year). This totalled 584,000 hours of volunteering across the year (up 21%) and was the equivalent of £11.5m economic contribution (a 53% increase on 2022-23).
